“What’s got your wands in a knot? We were just talking, that is all.” I said as I made my way into their room, stepping over a couple of boxes that were placed hap hazardly in front of the door.
“As if, he lent over and kissed you.” Fred said angrily. What is up with these two?
“On the cheek! He kissed me on the cheek! It’s really not that much of a big deal you two do it all the time!” I yelled, getting wound up with how they were acting.
“That’s beside the point. We are the same age as you.” Fred mumbled as he went further into his strop.
“My mother isn’t the same age as me and she kisses my cheek!” I yelled, defending Charlie.
“He’s too old for you!” George blurted out.
“He’s twenty-three George. Seven years really isn’t that bad. And anyway I turned him down.” I said.
“Seven years is bad! Are you out of your mind? Your parents will flip!” Fred and George yelled together as though it was rehearsed, completely ignoring the fact that I had said no.
“I told him no!” I yelled at them angrily, before walking out of the door and slamming it shut behind me. I stomped my way up to Ginny’s room, making sure that Fred and George were well aware with how angry I was with them.
“Whoa who did you murder?” Ginny joked as I harshly opened her door and threw myself on the cot that was set up beside her bed.
“Charlie asked me to be his girlfriend.” I grumbled into the pillow.
“Ooo and what did you say?” Ginny asked, sitting up on her bed and turning to face me.
“I told him no.” I said bluntly, Ginny’s smile instantly dropped.
“Aw, he’s going to be crushed. He’s been working up the courage to ask you out ever since you came over for Christmas when you were in your second year. Hang on… why do you look like you want to kill, hurt or seriously disfigure someone?” She asked, confused.
“Well you see. Your darling brothers, Fred and George, decided to spy on us and they saw Charlie kiss me on the cheek and we basically just had a yelling match.” I said, giving her the shortened and compact version of the argument downstairs.
“Ahh so that’s what all the noise was about.” She said nodding her head and lying back down.
“I just don’t get it though, they were acting so strangely. So until they apologize I’m not speaking to them.” I said as I rolled over to face Ginny.
“Ariella don’t you get it? They were jealous.” Ginny said sighing as she rolled over so that we were now facing each other.
“Jealous but why?” I asked, completely confused. Why on earth would they be jealous?
“Well, they obviously thought that you had said yes to Charlie so they were jealous of him. When they saw him kiss you they probably felt territorial, as if you were their property not his.” Ginny explained. After all she was probably the only girl that could ever understand the way that the Weasley boys minds worked.
“I’m nobody’s territory.” I huffed, outraged.
“I know that, but you know what boys are like.” Ginny said laughing, before she decided that it would be fun to hit me with her pillow. I squealed and hit her back. Suddenly her door swung open and in ran Ron, his wand raised.
“What’s wrong? I heard screaming!” Ron demanded, looking around the room for any possible threat with a slightly pink face.
“Ron, we were just having a pillow fight.” I said, giggling.
“Oh dear lord.” He managed to squeak out before he fainted. This caused Ginny and I to collapse into a fit of laughter.
“I can’t believe… that he… fainted!” Ginny gasped out through her laughter.
“I know, bless him.” I said, stepping over Ron and running into the bathroom down the hall. I turned the cold tap on and filled a cup, that was on top of the cabinet, to the brim and walked cautiously back to Ron’s still body. Then, I proceeded to throw said cold water onto Ron’s face, startling him out of his unconscious state.
