In an Endless Sea [Chapter XVI: COACH HEDGE]

Chapter XV




COACH HEDGE




A day after what happened in spain, Grover's nature spirits helped us.





Now were half way across the Lanoe lake and on our way to camp halfblood's shore. The shore of the long island.




Nico is conscious again. He looked recharged and ready to shadow travel again but we can't take the risk.




A moment later we reached the shore and made our way to the big house. The campers are doing their morning routine. Practicing ang preparing for the romans.




"Nice camp." Reyna looked around and complimented the camp.




We continue walking. No campers gave us second look. They were so busy. I was looking around for Mellie but She's a cloud nymph she can be anywhere in camp halfblood at the moment.




As we approach the big house, Chiron, he looked at us as if he was expecting us.




"Children, come in." Chiron led the way inside the big house.




Reyna looked around and see the deer's head (literally. Just a head. It's a display chosen by Mr. D. It's creepy, seriously) looking at her and sneering and blowing smoke out of its nose.




"Excuse the display. It was Mr. D's choice." Chiron apologized.




"I believe you have brought the Parthenos." Chiron stated and poured a diet coke in a glass and handed it to Reyna.




"Thank you. And yes, we have the Parthenos. Annabeth told us to bring it here." Reyna said while drinking the diet coke.




"I see. Thank you. I believe your camp is planning to attack. We wouldn't want them to hate you for being with us in time of the attack. I am truly grateful with all the effort you've done. But I can't hold you here any longer. You have to go back to your camp. Thank you." After Chiron have said that he gave a smile at Reyna and begun to walk out of the room but Reyna spoke.




"I'm not leaving this camp unless, I've finish my duty. I've got to put the Parthenos in the middle of your camp. That's what Annabeth told me."




Reyna stood up and stormed out of the room. Nico just heaved a sigh and stood up to follow Reyna and of course I had no choice but to follow Nico as well.




I followed the Demigods unto the shore where we docked and saw the Parthenos.




It's 40 feet tall and I don't know how we were able to carry it all the way from Rome to Camp Halfblood.




Reyna held the rope that Nico tied on the Statue to be its handle and Reyna pulled it with such ease.




Yep that's a daughter of Bellona alright? I moved out of her way since she looked like she's in such a hurry and she might squash me with the Parthenos if I don't get out of the way.




Once Reyna had gotten to the middle of camp, she walked up to Chiron and bid him good bye.




"I've done my responsibility. I have to go back to my camp. Thank you." Just like that she stormed out of camp and was nowhere to be seen.




I went to my house and there I saw Mellie.




"Baby! I'm back!" I shouted and she beamed with joy she ran to me and gave me a huge.




"Thank the gods you're alive Gleeson. Are you going back to the quest again?" she asked with pain in her eyes.




"No. I'm staying this time. For you and our child." I hugged her.




"You must be tired. Go get some sleep." I walked up to my bed and as soon as I closed my eyes. I started my empathy link with Leo.




*dream*




I smell sulfur.




Reddish glow of the sky is what caught my attention. Okay. This is weird. Where in the name of the gods is Valdez?




As soon as I saw Leo I called him out. I don't think he can see me. But I can see him perfectly, even under the reddish glow of the place.



"VALDEZ! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! WHERE ARE YOU?!" I asked him trying to figure out where we are.




"I don't know coach. Last thing I remember I fell asleep with a smell of stew. Oh and a giant humanoid figure." Oh no. I don't like where this is going. But please, I hope my thought aren't right.




But as soon as I tried to dismiss the thought I saw a scene. Yep. No doubt about it, he's in Tartarus. In a giant's lair.




If he die. I die. I leave Mellie and our child. But I also have to help Valdez.




I saw the Giant coming near him and I felt a strong shake and then the dream went black and I woke up.




I got up and went out of my house to look for di Angelo.




"Kid, Leo's in trouble." I told Nico and he looked at me in a manner I've never seen him do before.




He looked concerned? I don't know.




"What happened to him." I saw him clenched his fist until his knuckles turned pale. (Yes, he always looked pale but his knuckles are in another degree paler than he is.)




"He was in Tartarus. how he got there I have no idea. He's in a giant's hut." I gave him the details how the giant looked like. how the hut looked like. And what I smelled during the dream. STEW. No doubt about it. It was STEW.




Nico doesn't look worried unlike the moment I told him Leo was in trouble. I wonder why. But I won't ask him that. We have to help Leo.




"I'll get him. And return him to Argo II. Bye." He said he was about to use his shadow travel powers but I stopped him.




"I'll come with you." I said and held his hand.




"No coach. It will take up a lot of my energy. Stay here and wait for me. I'll come back." He said. Okay maye I'm really worried about those pests. And even this little grave summoner.




"Just promise to come back, kid, and you can go." I told him and I saw a smile in his lips but I know he was trying to hide it.




"I swear on the river styx, coach" and just like that he drifted into shadows.

A/N: Here's an update. :))) okay it's 3:30 am here in the Philippines and I can't sleep so I decided to write another chapter. So what do you think? :))) comment your thoughts. :)) hello 7 am class. :) (11:30 actually but I have to leave my house early so I won't be late. :D heavy traffic kills me everyday. ): ok. Sorry for this long AN. XD)
