Seventh hour passing period. I need to get to her. No more waiting, I love her. I'm sure of it, I need to tell her. She's leaving tomorrow on a trip with her dad. Once I found her, I smiled and quickly wrapped my arms around her.

"Let's get out of here, babe. Skip eighth period." People were surrounding us and giving small shoves because we were in the way. She nodded. Her long curly black hair cascaded around her and she slung her bag on her shoulder.

Making sure no teachers were watching, we fled campus going in the direction of my car.

"There's something I need to tell you." She said.

"Yes, there's something I need to tell you too."

Hesitantly, she said "You first."

I gave her a lazy smile and kissed her forehead mumbling "I love you."

She pulled away. "No! How can you say that?"

"Say what?"

"That you love me. You don't."

"Yes I do, Addey. I've never been more sure of anything."

"Stop. Please. Don't say...ya know...that anymore. You're just -"

"Addey, no. I love you, I know I do. I love you, I love you, I love you."

"You don't wanna love me."

"Yes, I love you. I know it."

She shook her head. "You forced yourself to believe that."

"No, Addey, I love you."

She looked down and threw her head in her hands. "I'm-I'm...I'm sorry. I can't do this." She unlocked the door. I leaned over and pulled her close before she could leave completely.

"No. That'll only make it harder." She removed herself from my arms. "I once loved you too."

"Why? What happened? Did I do something? If I did, slap me. I'm sorry, I'm especially sorry for not realizing it. C'mon, slap me, I'm waiting."

"No. It's not you -- "

"It's not me, it's you, right? Addey, don't give me that bull."

"Emmit, I'm sorry. I'd never wanna hurt you. I just...it really is me."

I grasped the steering wheel in anger and frustration. "Go."

"What?"

"Leave."

"I'm sorry, Emmit."

I opened the door for her and breathed out a mouth full of air. She exited my car leaving me to wonder how I managed to screw everything up.

I stumbled into eighth period. I groaned as I read the objective on the board. Possessive and non-possessive nouns. The stupid idiot I am, I got myself into support classes. At least that's what they call them, but everybody knows it's for the ones who never did good in school and needed extra help. The only good thing about right now is Keifer. He asked me out.

I smiled shyly. He's my boyfriend now.

He's unbelievably cute. He's mine now. I chewed my lip looking down lost in thought.

"Macee?" Mrs. Jaysen asked. She was using the tone she used when people weren't paying attention. I quickly shot up.

"Huh? Oh. Um, I'm sorry, what was the question?" She sighed and continued down the aisle. How embarrassing. I want to get out of these classes and they were considering it but with my grades lately...it's not likely.

For the rest of the period, I spent it clock-watching and scribbling down random things on my paper. I know if I wanna get out of this class, I shouldn't do that but...something's been distracting me too much lately. I'll work on it some other time. Today too much stuff has happened. I think I deserve a break.

As soon as the bell rang, I jetted up out of my seat ready to get. The bleep. Out of here!! When I heard, "Macee? Not so fast." I closed my eyes and whirled around.

"Is there a problem, Mrs. Jaysen?"

She handed me a piece of paper. "Macee. I don't know what happened. You were doing so great but the past few weeks have been pretty bad. Right now, you have an F."

"I know, I know. I'm sorry, I've just had allot on my mind lately, I'll try to do better."

"That," She pointed to the paper in my hand. "is the last test we took. Look at the grade. Your parents need to sign it so they know you're failing."

I looked at the paper. 36%. Well, I see what she's talking about. Gee, I certainly didn't think it was that bad.

"Like I said, I'll try to do better and would you happen to know if there's any way I could get extra-credit?"
