~Prologue~

I lie here. The twilight deepens and midnight comes around.  The most solitary time. I am alone. Forever. I had a chance. One chance. I didn’t take it. The last moments of my life spent alone, here in the depths of Kanta woods. The ice around me reflects the light of the moon on my eyes.  Life as I know it, as Grace Trellys, has gone. I wake up. The leaves below me damp with melted snow. The scents of the forest coming alive with the rays of the sun.  This is my new life. This is Grace Trellys, but not as you know her.

~Chapter 1~

I pad through the pine trees. The sap catching in my fur and sticking the fibres together. I stand here and listen, the snow melting beneath my paws. All I hear is the birds singing in the tree's, the constant pad of the other wolves around me.

"Forward" We move forward as one. 

All at once I see what we were searching for. A boy. My heart beats faster. He looks only a little older than me. Why have I never seen him before? Who is he? Where has he come from? And most importantly; Why is he here?

The pack spreads out around the boy, our snarls audible in the calm night air.

"Attack!" I hear the command and we pad forward.

The boy turns sharply around to look at us, as if he has suddenly snapped out of a day dream and discovered he is being watched. He gasps. Quite a small reaction, I think, considering he is being hunted, and about to be killed.

The boy runs forward, stumbling as does. We amble after him: we know he cant out run us, so there is no point in trying. Suddenly, he stops. 

"STOP!" He yells. We carry on. His words have no meaning to us. He turns back around and tries to run, but falls to the ground, crying out in pain and horror.

"Kill him!"

" Take him to our leader!"

"Make him one of us!"

So many voices flicker through my head.

"No!" I command "We let him go!" The pack backs away from the boy, and he gets up, still stumbling.

 The pack never listen to me. Why did they listen to me this time?

The boy cowers back against the tree's. He looks at each of us in turn. He turns and looks straight at me. I gasp, which comes out a low, soft howl.

~Chapter 2~

I can't sleep. His picture is burnt into my mind. His pale blue eyes staring fixatedly into my wolf eyes, his light blonde hair. 

Its so cold out here. Ive never noticed it before. Its like something is missing. Something ive never known before. "You know what it is your missing" A voice in my head tells me. "Shut up!" I snap back. A wolf behind me makes a snarling sound in my ear. She knows she's right, but I'm not going to listen to her, I am Alpha Female in the pack, she should listen to me, not the other way round!

Its morning now. I didn't sleep at all. All i can think is The Boy, all I see is his face;his eyes, all i hear is his voice.

"Your obsessed"

"He's just a boy!"

"You only saw him for five minutes!"

Please tell me they can't hear my thoughts this time!

"We can hear them, so get over it!"

I have to concentrate to block my thoughts now, i never used to have to, it used to come naturally. Now I can go back to thinking. I can still only think of the boy. 

~Chapter 3~

It never used to be like this. I used to be a human, many moons ago. I wonder if they are still searching for me? I wonder if my family remember me. There was someone else thought, someone i know was important to me.I wish the Lycanthropy didnt block my memories from before I was turned! I can't even remember where I was turned! I can't remember any of it. I barely even remember my own name, I am just part of the Kanta woods wolf pack now. No name, no identity, no freedom. 

I need to find a cure.

"There's no cure for Lycanthropy!"
"Whats the point in trying? It'll Never work!"

Damn it! I forgot to block my thoughts! I block my thoughts again, this time remembering not to let my guard down again. 

~Chapter 4~

"Grace! You can't try to fight Lycanthropy!"

"Why not Lille? Its just like a virus, and you can fight viruses can't you?"

"Yes, but ..."

"Exactly! You can fight it!"

You never let me finish! I was about to say that you aren't human anymore, it doesnt work like that anymore!"
