This is a true story. I made one again because I'm really inspired to glorify our Lord! To God be the glory!
“Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the edge of His cloak. She said to herself, ‘If I only touch His cloak, I will be healed.’ Jesus turned and saw her, ‘Take heart, daughter,’ He said, ‘your faith has healed you.’ And the woman was healed from that moment” (MAT 9:20-22).
Ilden Jomar was only 7 months old when her mom, Marla, gave birth to him. Unfortunately, the doctor detected a defect on the child’s heart, and he was already given an allotted year-span.
While Marla lay on her hospital bed, Raffy was continuously praising God, singing unto Him, and shouting “Hallelujah!”. And during his home visits, he would gather around their neighbors, form a circle, and pray hand-in-hand for Ilden’s healing. In Raffy’s prayers, he would always mention:
“Lord, You alone have the right to claim lives. And I know well that whatever happens to my child, it is Your will. But, Lord, I also have the kind of faith the 12-year bleeding woman has in the Bible - she who has touched your cloak and was healed because of that faith. I claim right now that You will heal my son, and will use him for Your glory. For Your glory alone.”
When Raffy went back to the hospital where Ilden was being incubated, he asked their doctor, “When can we go home, doctor?”
“Mr. and Mrs. Findley, you can go home now, but please, bring with you this medicine for your son.” Dr. Turner handed them a small bottle of medicine that could be mistaken as a poison because of the skull pictured on it.
“And aside from the medicine your son will be taking, he should also come here during Fridays,” Dr. Turner told the couple, who was holding the medicine and examining it intently.
“Please be careful with that medicine, Mr. and Mrs. Findley,” Dr. Turner added. “Make sure that when you give it to your son, its amount won’t be no more and no less than the measure stated on the instructions. It should be exact, Mr. and Mrs. Findley, or else, Ilden will die," the doctor warned.
The couple went home with Ilden, thinking whether they would even give that awful medicine to their son.
“No, Marla.” Raffy told her wife. “We won’t dare give that medicine to Ilden.”
“And go there on Fridays?” Raffy continued. “We have God, Marla. We don’t need to bring our son there anymore.”
And so it was, Ilden didn’t receive any medicine, nor was he taken back to that hospital as told to them by Dr. Turner.
Their amazing faith in God healed their son. Ilden had made it past the lifespan allotted to him. Their family and their neighborhood rejoiced! Truly, as what Luke 17:6 says, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’, and it will obey you.”
Ilden Jomar is now 11 years old, together with his parents and three other siblings, good-looking, very healthy, and enjoying God’s gift of life to him! To God be the glory!
