The girl behind the Veil
Everytime I cross you, you start to whisper,
The look you throw me speak volumes than your words,
I know you believe that I'm crazy to wear a cloak, while you wear short skirts,
You some time shout that Islam treats women as slaves,
But....
This loose dress is what I've chosen to wear,
No one forced me to cover,
It's what I Love and what I Prefer...
Yes, I do close my head and hair,
I do it not to advertise my beauty out there,
so don't blame that it's not fair,
because, though my head is hidden,
my brain is still open to learn and listen...
Yes, I do mask my face with a clothe,
I do it to hide myself from lustful sight,
so don't fight for me saying Islam doesn't treat me right,
because, though my face is veiled,
my right is still there, always valid.
The girl behind the veil,
she is happy as herself...
She's just another one like you,
with brain, insight, knowledge and ignorance,
with everything she ever wants...
She hides her face and body behind the veil and a cloak,
not as a slave or a weak person,
not to cower under the power
Not to satisfy the domineering man...
She wears Hijab,
as a proud woman,
to protect her chaste and virtue,
As advised by her Lord, her one God, Allah!!!
