Your Biggest Fan

Six months she waited, waited for Nick to come through her window again. But she was waiting for something that wasn't going to happen.

Those nights she spent alone, waiting in her room, she began thinking. She began writing. She began playing.

Over those six months, Brooke had wrote an apology. An apology in the best way she thought Nick would understand, through lyrics.

So one night, she decided to change things. She decided to fix things.

Brooke climbed up to Nick's window with her guitar on her back. She tapped lightly on the window. As Nick pulled back the curtains, his eyes fell on Brooke's. Her heart hammered in her chest, but she didn't shy away this time. He proceeded to open the window for her to climb through.

As her feet landed on his wooden floor, he peered behind her to see the guitar on her back, his eyes full of confusion.

"You play guitar?" Was all he said. His first words to her since those six months ago. So simple, so unemotional. Brooke's heart shattered slightly more.

"Yeah, I learned a little." She looked down at her hands. He only nodded. She then took the guitar off her back. "I thought maybe you'd like to hear my first song." His eyes slightly brightened.

"Sure." Was all he spoke. He did not speak much in the first place, but these short sentences were beginning to hurt Brooke. She began to question whether she should even be here, doing this. But she continued on, too late to back down now.

She took a seat on the edge of Nick's bed, facing him as he stood across the room. She placed her hands on the guitar, taking much longer than Nick would have. Nick stood, patiently waiting for her to continue. Then she began to strum sloppily, out of fear and inexperience. Then her shaky voice rang out.

"I never thought I would feel it.

Never thought I could get it like that, get it like this.

Get it like, everybody knows,

That we got something real, baby.

I know what I feel.

So shout it like that, shout it like this.

Listen up, everybody knows but you.

So here it goes.

Cause I never really noticed, took a while for me to see.

Playing back the moments, now I'm starting to believe.

That you could be at the show and know everyone,

But it's you who makes me sing.

I may not know where we are, but I know who I am.

Baby, I'm your biggest fan, oh.

Every time you smile for me,

Takes me a while to bring myself back.

Cause you're all that.

And I just had to let you know.

That I'm screaming out in the crowd for you.

I can't be too loud.

Cause I don't care, I let 'em all stare.

I just want everyone to know the truth, it's only you.

I never really noticed, it took a while for me to see.

I'm playing back the moments, and I'm starting to believe.

That you could be at the show and know everyone,

But it's you who makes me sing.

I may not know where we are, but I know who I am.

Baby, I'm your biggest fan.

You showed up and you were so attracting.

Made me think twice 'bout the way I was acting.

You were there from the start of it all.

Like a dream came to life, now I'm left in awe.

Stars shine, but your light is the brightest.

And love flies, but your love is the highest.

You're so sweet that it drives me crazy.

I made a huge mistake, can you forgive me maybe?"  Nick's laugh rang out across the room.

"I never really noticed, took a while for me to see.

Playing back the moments, and I'm starting to believe.

That you could be at the show and know everyone.

But it's you who makes me sing.

I may not know where we are, but I know who I am.

Baby, I'm your biggest fan, oh.

Baby, I'm your biggest fan, oh.

Because you could be at the show and know everyone,

But it's you who makes me sing.

I may not know where we are, but I know who I am.

Baby, I'm your biggest fan."

As Brooke's voice sang the last lyric, her eyes turned up towards Nick. His eyes focused on her, his lips turned up into a smile. He took a few strides towards her and wrapped his arms around her, burying his face in her hair.

"I'm sorry." He whispered. She only tightened her grip. They stayed like that for a few more moments, until there was a knock at Nick's door and he pulled away. "Who is it?" He called.

"Me, Joe." His older brother answered. Brooke took this as her cue to leave, and waved at Nick as she slung her guitar on her back and made her way out his window. He smiled at her and then proceeded to answer his brother.

Brooke made her way back to her room, and laid on her bed. Her heart already beginning to heal. She quickly fell asleep, her smile never leaving her face.

Nick however did not sleep at all. His thoughts spinning with the news his brother had told him earlier.

Things were going to change. And he wasn't sure whether it was for the better or the worse.

How'd you guys like this one? A little different with Brooke singing instead, huh? I really liked writing it. And I know You Biggest Fan is a later song, but I felt like it really worked here so I decided to still use it. I'm imagining, and probably going to include in much later chapters, that Nick will use this song later on as sort of a tribute to her. You know, he improves it and sings it to her. I'm not totally sure yet, but don't worry I did this on purpose. If you haven't noticed, I've been using time periods and matching up the songs with it. All the song so far are from their first album. I've been doing research about time and months when they left so it all works out perfectly. So hopefully all this research pays off and you guys think it's sort of cool, haha. Well sorry for the extra long author's note. Like, Comment, and Share!! Thanks guys. xx
