Things between us just aren't the same,
And I don't know who is to blame,
Things are slipping out of control,
Now I feel as if I'm not whole.
Never have I been in so much pain,
What you do to me is inhumane,
You make me feel what I never should,
You make me do what I never would.
Now the tears rush down my face,
As I've been enlightened to your disgrace,
With the knowledge ringing in my ears,
I know it confirms my deepest fears.
Facade in place, I face the world,
Gossip and rumours have unfurled,
I dispel them all with a false smile,
My heart aching all the while.
As things start to settle down,
I make sure no one notices my frown,
For though I am sad, they will never know,
As they are just there to enjoy the show.

PoetryA poem about the brave front that we often put on for the world, but also about the vulnerability behind the forced smile. "Very heart-catching, it's a feeling that many people can relate to" "this was truly amazing"
