CHAPTER 1: DESIRE
Bella Cullen
Its been roughly three years since the birth of my beautiful daughter, Renesmee.
Shes grown at an impeccible rate- she looks ten years old, though she is three. Tomorrow is her third birthday, and Alice- of course- insists on making it an occasion. This time I do not object, by any means. For her first and second birthday Alice had also gone all out, but this time it was a complete and total celebration. What with Nessie begging Edward and I to visit the Amazon coven, we decided we would gift her that for her birthday- aswell as many more things, she is absolutely spoiled. "Momma, wheres daddy?" Nessie mumbled through her sleepy eyes to me, "I don't know, but I am positive he heard you, and he will be here in three seconds." I replied to her, and as if on cue, Edward walked through the door and Nessie grinned at him as he walked over to her. "Good morning, sweetheart. Did you sleep well?" The smooth velvet sound of Edwards voice never seemed to loose its ability to take my breath away- if that was possible. "Good morning. I did sleep well, didn't you?" Nessie said sarcasticly, grinning at him. Edward winked at her, and kissed her the top of her head, "No, I am afraid I had a sleepless night." Renesmee giggled and got out of bed. Edward followed her to mine and his bedroom, "Good morning momma!" Nessie told me, crawling up into our big white bed with me. "Good morning, Mrs. Cullen." Edward greeted me, and I smiled at him in return and winked. I nestled Renesmee underneath the covers with me and stroked her hair with the back of my hand. "Good morning baby, are you hungry?" I asked her, watching Edward pacing in my perifhial vision, he just shook his head at me. "Yes momma. Can we hunt?" she asked me, I nodded and began to get out of the bed. "Go get dressed and I will grab your jacket." I told Nessie, watching her spring out of our bed, down the hall, around the cornner into her bedroom. Edward's paceing abrubtly stoped as he stalked towards me. "Is everything okay?" I asked him, genuinely concerned, as I pulled Nessie's light sweater of the hall closet. He shook his head, "Nessie is worried about something, but I cannot tell what it is exactly. Shes making sure not to think of the exact thing." I turned around faceing him, as I gently brought my hand up to caresse his face, "I am sure it isn't anything to should worry about, she's a little girl. Her worries are about what outfit her barbie doll will be wearing today, or weather to have a tea-party with the bunnies or the bears." I said jokeingly, kissing him quickly, and going to Nessie's room. As I walked away, I heard Edward laugh, "You're probably right." he said, too quiet for Nessie to hear, and he began to follow me. "Im ready momma, daddy. Lets go!" Nessie told me as I rounded the cornner to her bedroom, "Absolutely. Now..." I held her jacket out to her, she groaned but slid her arms into it and buttoned it half-way up. She put her hand up to my neck, and all I heard was "Is this really nessasary?" Edward and I laugh, what with him just seeing what I did. "Yes." we said together, as we each held one of Nessie's hands, and left the cottage.
Once we were done hunting, we returned to the main house, where we knew Jake would be waiting. He had been spending time with Alice, discussing what to do about Nessie's party. All I knew so far, was that we were going to pretend we forgot her birthday, and then at all of our friends and family would supprise her in the back yard at the main house. Other than that, I was out of the loop. Alice wouldn't even let me help, the only people who knew any details were Esme, of course, and Jake. Why Jake might be involoved in this, I could only think one reason. He wanted to make sure everything was "safe" for Nessie. What did he think? Alice wasn't capable of accounting the safety of Nessie? That was absurd, and almost rude.
