It is but one word but it kept me going.
No one has to die for me. No one deserves to die for me.
No one. No one except me.
Smoke filled the air as thick as dark clouds. With ragged breath I pulled myself up to make a run for it.
There’s the word again. It’s inside my head. It buzzes like turmoil desperate for attention. My vision starts to blur.
No one will die for me. I won’t let anyone die for me again.
I hear the explosions. One by one, buildings started to fall and rubbles flew in the air. Descent after descent, the place shattered.
Everything is going according to plan. I made a lopsided smile in the dark.
The clock stops ticking. The Barriers had fallen. The Gate opens.
And that’s what I’m going to do.
