I slowly walked down the stairs, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. The smell of soft pancakes lit up my nose, making my mouth water. I knew that smell of pancakes anywhere. Chocolate chip, with her home-made badder.
I pulled my long t-shirt down, covering up my under-wear. It had been a couple days since Max had come home. I was a lot happier now that she was here. We had both changed a bit, but that hadn't separated us. We were still as close as we had been when Max lived me and my family for a few years before the got the scholarship to Japan.
Muffled voices could be heard as I reached the bottom of the stairs. I could make out Max's voice. But the second one I couldn't reconize. I could tell it was a man by how deep and grumply his voice sounded. I chuckled lightly as a mumbled to myself, "Grumbly," it only made me laugh more. It was such a fun word to say. "Grumbly."
"OH MY GOD, GO PUT SOME PANTS ON YOU LITTLE HOOKER!" I busted up laughing as she threw a towel over the man's face. That didn't stop him from laughing as he took the towel off his face, drinking his coffe as if he saw half-naked women all the time. Which I'm sure he did. He was completely gorgeous. I'm sure he was just another one of Max's one-night stands. She had told me about a lot of them that she had over there. He'll be gone in an hour. I'm suprised he is even getting breakfast. She normally said in the emails that she just sent them on their way. He must be something special.
"And who might this be?" He said. I shrugged my shoulders, walking to the fridge and opening my own supply of orange juice. "No answer? I see how it is." He turned back to Max, giving her a look that was hard for me to read. Probably read 'Back in the bedroom.' I love Max, don't get me wrong. But she's too sexy for her own good. Long red hair that fit her perfectly. It was weird, most of the time dyed red hair doesn't fit anyone. But her's was more of a velvet color, like the color of cake red velvet cake. And her green eyes shown so bright it was like being blinded. Oh, her body.. It was like a God. She had perfect curves, only complimenting her face. And oh, she had boobs. Real, she has not had one boob-job in her life. And for someone as skiny as her, her C cups were VERY complimentary. Her butt stuck out like a strippers, which I'm sure she would be good as. She's a major slut. Always getting the guys that she wants. Oh, how I wanted to be her.
"What's your problem, Tonto?" I expected this. Even though she was completely thinking about how she looked, always fixing her hair, she was a good friend. I knew she only wanted me to be happy.
"Nothing, I'm just still tired after last night." I said, taking a couple of gulps out of my OJ, letting the cool liquid run down my throat. I walked off into the laundry room sluggishly, pulling on some jean shorts. I could hear the muffled voices again, as if they were trying hard to not be heard.
"She doesn't," I heard max say, drowning out her sound in sizzeling bacon.
The man's voice was mumbled at first, then all the talking stopped as the cooking stopped, and a voice rang through my ears. "SARAH! Come eat!" A smile broke out on my face as I took in a deep breath, filling my nostrils with the amazing smell of my sister's cooking.
We were all sitting around the island in the kitchen, a homey-feeling comforting us all. "So, can I have your name now?" The man raised his eyebrow at me. I hadn't heard Max say his name all day, and it was already around 4 in the afternoon. Since I didn't know his name, I couldn't come back with a smart-ass remark.
"Havn't you already heard her say it, you creep?" I asked, seeing Max chuckle in the corner of my eye. He seemed to be amused by this, as I saw his brown eyes light up with laughter.
"I have, but I wanted to hear it come from your lips." He said. He glanced his eyes over to Max. I followed his gaze, wondering what was going on. She gave him a stern look, and he nodded, only a sliver of movement, but I caught it. He looked back to me, a smile placed on his lips. "I'm Jake, by the way." He stated, standing up, starting to walk out of the room and up the stairs. He turned around at the bottom of the stairs, looking me directly in the eyes. "I'll be here for awhile, so don't worry." He said with a hint of something, turning and walking up the stairs.
"Stay away from him, Sarah." I heard Max say, I turned my head her way, glaring at her full force.
