Unrequited Love

I need to ask you a question,
I have no time for lies,
Do you still think of me,
Am I the one on your mind,

I need to tell you a story,
A tale of woe unfolds,
A loves lost on this journey,
A theme so often told,

I blamed you for a lifetime,
Yet your mistakes were few,
I need to let you know,
My apology is true,

I need you to forgive me,
For all my actions done,
I can't ask you face to face,
Your life and loves moved on,

I promise you I shed a tear,
For what we could have been,
I yearned for us together,
I ranted, cried and screamed,

There comes a time amid the grief,
Where one must look inside,
At what you're holding on to,
A ghost is all you'll find,

It is a one sided affair,
That's rarely understood,
The least forgiving of all heart aches,
The unrequited love.
