Note Seventy-Seven

I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Terrence?" I asked tentatively, staring down as he gave me a smile. I wasn't sure what to say, whether or not to ask him if he was the Creepy Stalker. If he was, it wouldn't even make sense.

"Hey, Cora. Thanks for meeting me here."

"So you're the creepy stalker." I said slowly, approaching his bench,

Terrence frowned. "I'm what?"

I raised an eyebrow. "Did I never tell you that my contact's name for you was creepy stalker?"

"I don't think so. But I also don't that those are the questions you really want to be asking me." Terrence replied, patting the area next to me to sit down. I did so, sinking slowly onto the bench and clasped my hands together, awkwardly staring straight ahead.

"I really don't know what to say." I responded truthfully. "You're the one who cheated on . Why were you trying to help me?"

Terrence sighed and rubbed his face. "Listen, hooking up with that girl was probably the biggest mistakes of my life. I still love you, Cora, a lot. When I tried to explain it to you and you rejected me, not surprisingly, I decided that I would try and keep you safe. I found out about the stupid bet Sam had made with his friends and I wanted to tell you so badly.

"But I figured you wouldn't listen. So then I bought this app on my iPhone that lets me create a new number because I wasn't sure if you had deleted my phone number."

"Then why the hell were you so cryptic? I never got a straight answer from you."

Terrence shrugged." I don't know. Some days I would consider texting you a bad idea. I didn't want to get  involved in helping you because I knew I would just fall deeper in love."

"You're not just saying this to try and get a feel under my dress, right?"

His eyes widened and I sore Terrence blushed. "No, no, I swear, I'm just doing this as a friend."

"Calm down." I replied, cracking a small grin, "I was just kidding."

He relaxed." I just want you to know that I've changed, that's all."

"Well, I really appreciate you trying to help." I responded, slightly bitter. "Even though it didn't really help with Sam."

"That asshole. I heard about how he asked you to Homecoming at dinner."

"Speaking of Homecoming, where's your date?" I asked curiously.

"She's probably dancing with another guy or something. I don't really care. I'm kind of over this dance. Do you want me to give you a ride home?"

I raised an eyebrow at him. "How do you know that I need a ride home?"

This time, he looked uncomfortable, clearing his throat before he talked. "I overheard Jacklyn and Sam talking on Friday. I think she was planning with him to get you to hook up with him."

Although I wasn't surprised that Jacklyn would pull a stunt like that, I still felt some anger to her at making me fall for the rap. "A ride with be great."
