I Laid My Head Against The Car Window And Watched As Everything Passed By. My Mom Janelle, My Uncle Chase, And I, Niah, Were On Our Way To Our New Home In California. My Dad Passed Away 2 Months Ago Because Of "Gang Violence". That Was The Story My Mom Tried To Tell Me... But I Knew It Was A Lie.
When My Dad Died, And My Mom Started "Grieving", My Dad's Younger Brother Chase "Comforted" My Mom. I Had Always Knew About My Mom's Affair With Uncle Chase, But I Kept It To Myself For My Dad's Sake, But Now He's Gone And I Know My Uncle Had Something To Do With It.
(Flashback)
You: Higher Daddy! Higher!
Dad: Okay I Hope You Can Handle It!
He Pulled The Swing Up Really High, And Let Go Really Fast. "Whoosh!"
You: (Laughing)
Dad: I Love That Gorgeous Smile Of Yours. Your Husband Will Be One Lucky Man.
You: Ewww! Boys Are Icky! They Have Cooties!
Dad: What?! I'm A Boy!!! (Starts Tickling You)
You: (Laughing) Stop Daddy!
Dad: Alright Princess, Ready To Go?
You: Yes.
He Picked Me Up Off Of The Swing, And We Walked Away Towards The Sunset.
(End Of Flashback)
Mom: Niah! Let's Go Baby, We're Here!
You: Okay Mom, I'm Coming.
I Got Out Of The Car And We Were At This Huge Beautiful House. I Walked Inside And Saw Uncle Chase Holding My Mom's Waist. When He Saw Me Come In, He Just Started At Me With His Cold Pitch Black Eyes.
UncleChase: Niah, Why Don't You Go Put Your Stuff In Your Room. Its Upstairs. All Your Furniture Is Already In There.
I Grabbed Some Of My Stuff And Carried It Up The Stairs. It Didn't Take Long Because I Didn't Have Much. I Didn't Want Much. I Felt, Without My Dad, I Have Nothing. I Finshed Putting My Clothes Away And I Had One Last Decoration For My Room. My All Time Favorite Possesion, A Picture Of My Dad.
I Put The Picture On My Night Stand, And Sat On The Floor And Just Stared At My Dad's Picture. I Missed Him So Much. I Could Still Hear His Voice Saying "Babygirl Everything Happens For A Reason, Just Stay Strong And You'll Make It Through".
A Tear Fell Down My Cheek, And My Mom Walked In My Room. I Quickly Wiped The Tear Away As She Came And Sat Beside Me On The Floor.
Mom: So Baby, Do You Like It Here?
You: Its Alright I Guess....
Mom: Your Uncle Paid For You To Go To A Private School Not Too Far From Here, You Start Tomorrow!
You: Whatever.
Mom: And Chase Bought You A Whole New Wardrobe, The Clothes Are Really Cute! (Pointing To My Closet)
I Turned And Saw A Bunch Of Really Short Shorts, Tank Tops, Pants With A Bunch Of Holes, And Shirts That Were Way Too Revealing. Basically, These Looked Like The Clothes Of A Stripper.
You: I Don't Want New Clothes Ma... Especially Not Those!
Mom: Babydoll, There's Nothing Wrong With These Clothes He Bought You... They'll Help You Get A Boy And (Gets Cut Off)
You: I DON'T WANT A BOYFRIEND!
Mom: Niah, Your Going Into The 12th Grade Now, And You've Been Single All Your Life, Time To Grow Up And Have A Life!
You: I Did Have A Life Until Daddy Died! That's When Everything Got Messed Up!
Mom: This Is The Best Our Lives Have Ever Been Niah! You Need To Appreciate What Your Uncle Chase Has Given Us!
You: Are You Kidding Me?! Ever Since He Walked Through The Door My Life Has Been Ruined!
Mom: Exactly How Niah?
You: Hello! Daddy Died Because Of Him!
Mom: How Is That His Fault!
You: Uncle Chase's Gang Members Killed Him!
Mom: Your Father Should Have Stayed Away Like Chase Told Him To!
You: He Was Protecting Me, Because Obiviously You Didn't Care! You Just Sat There Smiling, And Let That Guy Do This To Me!
Mom: Get Your Clothes Ready For School Tomorrow. Goodnight.
She Left And I Started Crying. I Laid On The Floor And Held My Stomach. Yes, I Was 2 Months Pregnant, And I Don't Even Know Who The Father Is. I Laid There Helplessly, Crying Myself To Sleep.
(Next Morning)
I Woke Up In My Bed, I'm Guessing Chase Put Me Here. Today Was The Day I Started School, Thank God It Was Friday Though... I Went And Took A Shower And Left My Hair Curly. I Put On My Black Jeans A T-Shirt And My Hoodie, And My Worn Out Converse. I Went Downstairs And Saw Chase And My Mom On The Couch.
