*Addison’s POV*

“See you tomorrow, Leo!” I called as I walked up the stairs yawning. Opening the door to the girl’s dormitory I was greeted by Flecks zooming at me and landing on my arm. “What’s wrong girl?” I asked peering at her cautiously. She nibbled my ear and squawked loudly as another girl came up and held her hand out.

“Names Freya,” She introduced herself and we shook hands. “Half-blood, mom went here about eleven years ago.” Freya had short, choppy black hair with pink and blue streaks in her bangs, her ice blue eyes bore into me as I introduced myself back.

“Addison Peverell, pureblood. Nice to meet you.”

“Oh I know who you are. Nice bird, not a people person is he?” She asked walking back to her bed and sitting down. I found my trunk and chuckled as I set Flecks on the bed banister.

“She is a little people wary, true but she allows some people to get near her.” I fluffed up my pillow and started putting my clothes away. As I was washing my face I noticed she was staring at me still. “What?” Freya laughed lightly and shut the curtains to her bed a few minutes later I heard snoring come from behind the red drapes.  The rest of our classmates filed in, they introduced themselves and fell asleep quickly. Leaving me awake pondering her laugh, eventually I gave up and fell asleep as well.

Sunlight streamed through the windows waking up the dormitory. I rolled over groaning slightly as I pulled myself up and out of bed. Dressing quickly in my robes and I turned to see my classmates still asleep in their beds. I whistled at Flecks who squawked loudly which did the trick as my classmates started collectively groaning. Freya glared at me through her bangs as I left to common room. Leo sat on one of the big comfy chairs by the fireplace waiting for me; he stood as I entered the room.

“How’d you know I wasn’t already down eating?” I asked walking over to him. He shook his head and met me halfway.

“I’ve been up for a while.” There were bags under his eyes, he looked like he hadn’t slept at all. I laid my hand gently on his arm.

“Leo did you sleep at all?” A short nod was all I got as we kept walking to the portrait hole. Chatter was common throughout the castle as we descended in silence. I kept thinking every time I looked at him that we would talk to me but his mind seemed elsewhere; this became a fact when he almost tripped on the vanishing stair which I had cautioned him off just before he stepped down. Finally I got fed up with him and pushed him behind a tapestry. “Leonardo! What is going on with you?”

“Nothing Addison geez calm down. I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night. Spent most of my time sitting in the common room waiting for morning.” He said rubbing his back slightly; I didn’t think I had pushed him that hard…

“Why, are you okay?” He nodded and motioned for us to leave but I shook my head. “We are not going anywhere until I get a bloody answer.”

“I had a weird dream that’s all.” And with that he left me behind the tapestry and somehow as I was getting out I lost him through the crowd of people. I started walking down the stairs alone when I felt a slit tap on my back, I turned to see Donatello smiling down at me.

“Oh hey Addison I was hoping it was you, everyone looks the same in these robes.” He picked up a corner of his robes and I had to laugh.

“Not used to them huh?” I reached up to straighten his tie and he rolled his eyes slightly.

“Not at all, I imagine Mikey probably had to have someone dress him.” He chuckled and I laughed a little harder. “So where’s Leo?”

“Who knows? I lost him through the crowd.” I said not wanting to tell him the truth: I had chased him off by accident. Donatello nodded thoughtfully and pulled a paper from a pocket in his robes. “That your schedule?” I asked.
