Chapter 1

Sofia walked in the dark of the night; she could not sleep during the night. Her vampire genes wouldn’t allow her to sleep until the moon fell and the sun rose. She felt a hunger staring to develop deep in her stomach, she would have to hunt tonight. She hadn’t had any blood from a warm body in a while, only those hospital bags of blood that she had stolen her stomach rumbled and her fangs instantly popped out of her gums.

They were sharp and she tried to pull them back in but since her hunger was strong they controlled her. She must find blood. Her mind wandered to so many different flavors of blood which made her stomach rumble and she went into hunter mode. Her eyes changing from brown to a bright purple color, she dashed towards the smell of humans. She slowed her inhuman speed and saw a group of people marching down into the woods for what seemed like a camping trip.

Sofia grinned when she saw a tall, broad man who had veins popping from his neck and arms. She could already taste the blood from him. She smelled it, his blood type was O positive, the best kind. She held back in the shadows and quickly pushed her mind towards the man she was planning to attack.

Man this blows! I’m gonna ditch… Sofia entered his mind and quickly pulled out at the thought. She could help him with his thoughts. She began to control his mind; he quickly marched away from the group claiming he was going to find wood for a fire. The other group members nodded in agreement. Sofia forced the man to walk away and into the dark woods where she was standing.

She let him go, not being able to control him for that long of a period. Her head ached now; she needed blood to feel better. The man looked at her in confusion as she approached him, “Girl, are you okay? You’re so pale!” He approached her and she moved quickly, she grabbed his arms and with her vampire strength wrapped his arms around his back, they made an inhumane crack.

The man almost cried out in pain but in a flash she was in his mind, she numbed the pain and bit into the vain in his neck. The taste of blood was sweet against her tongue, as she slurped up blood, the pain in her head vanished and she released the man and licked his neck to heal the mark that she had bore with her fangs.

She knew his was dead; she sucked too much of his blood like she had a tendency to do with the blood bags. Her heart ached for the man and she called out for help, when she heard the group running towards them she turned and ran with her vampire speed, she was miles away as the group arrived. The moon was slowly going down and she could see the sun peaking over the horizon.

She rolled her eyes and went into her bed, knowing her mother would come check on her and then wake her up for school. Sofia had been adopted since her parents mysteriously left her at the hospital where she was taken in by a nurse. This nurse is her present day mother.

When Sofia turned sixteen at midnight her body ached all over, her canine teeth went through so much pain. She was turning into a vampire, this was the age where she first found out she was a vampire; this was also the age she would look like a seventeen year old for the rest of eternity.

Just as she assumed her mother opened the door lightly and gently woke her up. Her mother smiled down at her and she sighed. When her mother left she leaped up and quickly changed her clothes and fixed up her hair. She looked in the mirror her skin no longer pale but a golden color, like she had been under the sun for a while.

Sofia went into the kitchen and listened out for her mother who was currently taking her shower. Quickly she reached into her special hiding spot and pulled out blood capsules and two blood bags. She filled her coffee mug with AB blood and heated it up. It was always better like that. She quickly inserted blood capsules into her sandwich and cupcake.

Hopefully at lunch no one would try to taste her delicious looking cupcake.

She quickly hid her lunch away and looked in her secret compartment under the wooden floor that was found when Sofia was marching around angrily and accidentally stepped on it and it flew up, revealing a small hole where she kept the blood bags she stole from the hospital and the blood vans.
