Chapter 20

"And up next, Austin Mahone!" The crowd went wild. One of Austin's song played as the crew began setting up his stage. I sat down in the empty waiting area, taking deep breaths, trying to contain myself. 

It hurt, what Colson did, right in front of me, because he knew I was there and knew I was watching. But I knew that this moment wasn't about me or Colson, it was about Austin, the one who needed my support and the one I'd promised would have it. 

"And now, ready to perform, is Austin Mahone!" The announcer sent vibrations through the arena and the crowd went wild. 

Austin opened up with Say Somethin', followed by Loving You Is Easy, What About Love, It Will Rain, On My Mind and closing with 11:11. It was a great set, but now came the hardest part. Austin was about to come rushing off the stage, and that's when we would greet each other and kiss, right in front of the cameras. That's when we would reveal our relationship to the world, just moments after Colson and Shaye did. And to my suprise, I was ready. 

I stood up and walked over behind the curtains. Austin looked up and smiled as he walked closer to me. The crowd died down as they set up the stage for the next performer, but that was the last thing on my mind. I heard the paparazzi being allowed into the room and my heart began beating faster. 

"Hey," Austin smiled as he wrapped his hands around my waist and pulled me close, his nose touching my forehead. 

"That performance was amazing," I whispered, not wanting anyone to hear our words. He smiled and I smiled back. The moment was inching closer. 

"11:11, that was for you.." He smiled even wider, bringing one hand up to my cheek. 

"Really? I didn't know that," I said sarcastically. We both laughed and Austin quickly pressed his lips to mine. Cameras snapped crazily. Austin smiled into the kiss before pulling away and wrapping his arms around me tightly. I snuggled into his chest and smiled uncontrollably. Maybe this is where I needed to be.. Where I belonged.

I awoke with a smile on my face. After Austin's performance, we walked the red carpet one more time before leaving and returning to his house, where we watched movies, ate junk food and hung out like normal teenagers for the entire night.  

I placed a gentle kiss under Austin's chin as I sat up and grabbed my phone from the nightstand. 15 mentions on Twitter, 9 photos of me on Instagram, and a goodnight text from my mother. Unlocking my phone, I logged on to Twitter first. Most of the mentions were from TMZ and other gossip networks. I already knew what they were talking about, but I decided to click on a link and read it anyways. 

'2 New Couples at JAMFest!' 

Not only have MGK and Shaye German, who have been seen at multiple outings the past few weeks, been confirmed by a very passionate kiss last night at JAMFest, but now MGK's former girlfriend Hayden Moore and Austin Mahone, the two "hiking" buddies, have also been confirmed as a couple! After MGK's rockin' performance, the paparazzi snapped shots of Kells and his new girlfriend kissing and being awfully romantic in the moments after. Just minutes later, after Mahone's performance, which included a lot of love songs, he and new girlfriend Hayden exchanged a few hushed words before sharing a loving kiss and cuddling. Neither couple showed up together, but did leave together and eventually disappeared in the streets of Hollywood. Paparazzi was told to leave minutes after both kisses, so no one knows whether the couples ran into each other backstage. But we can bet that if they did, there would be some drama.
