It May Be Spy School...But It's Still The Same Drama

My reflection starred back at me as I finished putting on my mascara. Stepping back, I looked at myself in the mirror. I knew I was pretty. My silky blonde hair fell perfectly straight down to the middle of my back, my bright blue eyes popped against my makeup, and my shirt fit just right against my curves. I'm not the least bit worried about fitting in at my new school.

I looked back at the acceptance letter I had gotten a week ago, and read it out loud. "Dear Alexis James: We are happy to announce that you have been chosen to attend Ellington Academy for Gifted Teens. You have shown extraordinary talent in certain areas and we would be very pleased if you decide to attend our school. I can assure you that the knowledge you gain here cannot be found anywhere else. We are one of a kind. If you take us up on this offer, show up at the airport at exactly 9:00 Friday, July 18. Do not bother responding to this letter. If you are even a minute late we will assume you do not accept and will leave without you. Say your goodbyes beforehand; because once you take off, you will not be contacting anyone outside our establishment again until you have graduated. We look forward to meeting you. Your new headmaster, Victoria Wood."

The clock read 7:01, almost two hours before I had to get to the airport and leave the small town of Haven Brook behind. I decided to call my 3 best friends in the whole world for the last time. Ring, ring, ring "Hello?"

"Hey, Alyssa, hold on let me get Jessica" I replied. Ring, ring, ring

"What's up Lexi?"

"Hold on, let me get Allison" Ring, ring, ring "Hey!"

"Ok we're all here" I exclaimed as I tried to decide whether I should tell them that this is the last time they will ever talk to me until the end of my senior year.

"You sound kind of out of it Lex. What's up?" I heard Alyssa ask in a concerned tone.

I sighed. "Guys, there's something I have to tell you."

"Ok, what is it?" Allison asked, confused.

"You know how I'm going to Ellington Academy?"

"Yea." they all replied in unison.

"Well,Iwon'thavecontactwithanyoneoutsidetheschooluntilIgraduate!" I mumbled without pausing after my words.

"Huh?"

"I said... 'Well, I won't be allowed to have contact with anyone outside the school until I graduate!" I repeated quietly.

"WHAT????" They all yelled in unison.

"I'm gonna to miss y'all like crazy!" I practically screamed, my country accent leaking through.

"How could you? You chose to go to that school even though it meant loosing us?" I heard Jessica say. I could hear the hurt in her voice even though she was trying to pass it off as anger. Click

"That's really messed up, Lexi! After all we've been through..." Allison broke off. Click

Alyssa and I stayed silent for what seemed like hours before I finally heard her voice full of pure hatred, "I can't believe you!" Click

I hung up the phone and felt tears running down my face. So much for my makeup. Once the tears stopped coming, I checked the clock and gasped. It was already 8:15! I had to leave the house at 8:30 if I wanted to catch my flight in time!

I rushed into the bathroom to redo my makeup. "There. Now I'm ready." I looked as good as new. It's amazing what makeup can do! I ran out the door with my bags in tow, chucking them in the backseat of my old, crappy, dented pickup truck. Once I got to the airport, I realized I had no idea where I was supposed to go! I didn't even have a plane ticket! Oh Crap! Why didn't I think of this before?!

And this is how I picture Lexi, just imagine her with blue eyes

Rushing to the nearest plane schedule, I realized I had no idea where this school was! How could I be so stupid? Right when I was about to hyperventilate, I noticed a boy coming my way

He looked taller than me, but that's not saying very much considering I'm only 5' 2''. His light brown hair came down to just below his ears, and his eyes were
