REMEMBER THEM

Dedicated to

I stand before a funeral casket of someone I use to know.

I reach out a hand to comfort them but realize they are no longer there.

It’s just a lifeless body now because their spirit is now elsewhere.

I think back on a lifetime worth of memories both good and bad alike.

Yet it doesn't seem to amount to as much as what they truly deserve.

They are surrounded by their loved ones now in death just as they were in life.

Everybody is there except the one person that knew them the best.

Instead they will now and forever more lie next to each other in a place,

where people will always remember them.
