Heb 3:7-8

"Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert…”

If you are constantly rejecting the word of the Lord, chances are you have a hardened heart.

To harden the heart is to be stubborn and self-willed. This is a dreaded condition when one becomes insensitive to spiritual things and persists in wrongdoing or wickedness. When you continue to do wrong even if you know it, then most likely you are hardening your heart.

Below are stages of hardening the heart. Carefully read them and assess if you are on a dangerous path of becoming stiff-necked before God.

1. Ignoring or departing from the truth of God’s Word

2. Willful disobedience of God and an increasing desire for sin

3. Reasoning out or justifying sin as not really sin but essential to one’s welfare

4. Rejecting the conviction of the Holy Spirit

5. Deeply into sin; lifestyle is already into sinning naturally.

If you are deep into sin, you may not even want to read this. But, if you think that you these are happening already, ask God to soften your heart and help you to change right away.

May God help us to refuse to harden our hearts.
