"No matter how much suffering you went through, you never wanted to let go of those memories."

- Haruki Murakami

•••~~~~~~•••

You watched them be born.

You watched them cry.

You watched them laugh.

You watched them crawl, walk, and run.

You watched them mutter then fully pronounce your name and his name.

You watched them use their toilet all by themselves.

They were absolute perfection, your children that is. It didn't matter that they posed a strain on your marriage since Kyoya and you had different parenting styles. The both of you didn't see eye to eye on many things regarding the children, but it didn't deter from the fact that the both of you wholeheartedly loved them to death.

They also left a strain on your body. The birth of all three of them wasn't smooth at all, leaving your body frailer than it was before. Raising them caused a chronic exhaustion that left you bedridden a good chunk of the year for the rest of your life. It was the reason why you were sleeping soundly on a Wednesday afternoon in your bed.

You were waiting for Kyoya to come back from work since you were in the midst of moving back to Namimori. It would be a long plane trip, something you weren't looking forward to. You licked your chapped lips as you turned in your sleep, but you heard a slight explosion surrounding you, knocking the sleep right out of you.

"Kyoya!" you exclaimed as your eyelids snapped open. You analyzed the different surrounds and realized that it was your old house, specifically the living room. You peered down at the kid in your lab and blinked slowly. "Lambo... Baby Lambo?"

You poked the snoring kid, and you realized then that your younger self had activated the Ten Year Bazooka. This was when your grandfather was still alive! You wobbled onto your weak legs, sprinting across the house you knew far too well and into his room.

Tears flooded your cheeks as you neared your sleeping grandfather, dropping to your knees in beside him. He looked so peaceful, not broken like how you last left him. Your hand reached out to stroke his cheek, "Grandpa, it's me."

No response.

"Well, it's the ten-years-older me. Haha, it's Lambo's fault I time traveled," you went on, "but yeah, I'm older and more mature."

You watched his facial muscles twitch as a lone tear fell onto his cheek. You wiped away those salty drops from your cheeks, not wanting to wake him up with any more tears. It would be hard to explain to him why Kid Lambo had a weapon that allowed a person to time travel. It would just be easier if he just stayed asleep.

"Before time runs out, grandpa," you whimpered as you began to remember the time you two fought, leaving him with the belief that your future looked grim. "I want to tell you something."

You tried to steady your voice, but you couldn't help but cry, "I want to say sorry for my stupid younger self. I will scream at you before you die, but I didn't mean it. A-And I got married... And I have three kids. And you'll never believe who my husband is...Yeah, it's Kyoya. My name is [First Name] Hibari. Can you believe it? I can't..."

You took a steady breath and continued, "....And I have you to thank for all this. So when the time comes, please don't worry about me, grandpa, because I--I'm going to be alright... I just want you to know that, because when you die, I don't want you thinking that you left me alone and hopeless. Because you didn't. I am so happy."

Your hand cradled his frail one as you sobbed quietly. "You have nothing to worry about... but it's not like you listened or anything."

You felt a tingle down your spine as the effect of the time travel began to wear off; however, before you left, you felt his hand squeeze yours back. "Grandpa?!"

There was smile forming on his lips, a smile of relief, as you began disappearing. He squeezed harder then dropped his hand as you left. It might have been only a second, but you understood the meaning behind his actions. It was his way of telling you that he heard you, that he won't be angry for your stupidity.

It was his way of saying good luck.

It was his way of saying 'goodbye'.

It was his way of saying 'I love you'.

Returning to your bed, you noticed Kyoya at the door, stunned at the pink smoke surrounding you. What made him more surprised was that you were crying hysterically. Kyoya glared at Lambo, knowing it was somehow his fault. "What did you do?"

"Ten Year Bazooka, n-not my f-fault!" Lambo stuttered.

Kyoya grumbled under his breath as he traveled towards your hiccupping form. The triplets, all of whom were far beyond confused, began to babble aimlessly as they tried to wipe your tears away, trying to comfort you in their own way. When Kyoya stood beside you, he lifted his hand to pet your head as his eyes softened.

"What did you see?"

"I saw my grandpa," you answered, "he knows of all this. He knows that I didn't mean that stuff... I was able to apologize--"

You heard Lambo close the door to allow you some privacy with your husband and children. Kyoya took the opportunity to sit on the bed as he continued to pet you, traveling from the top of your head to your cheek. He watched the salty drops roll down your cheek to which he would catch with the pad of his thumb.

"He knows I marry you and we have children."

He scoffed, "You told him everything."

You let out a few giggles as you watched the three toddlers mimic their dad's scoff. "I didn't tell him that they are all going to be murderers like you." Cue his smirk as he thought about it. It caused you to burst out laughing, "You're the most unusual person I've ever met, Kyoya."

"I could say the same to you," he retorted as he leaned forward to kiss you tenderly.

THEEND.
