Separated in Time

What terror to be,

Separated in time,

Lost in the clock’s

Monotonous chime.

A gap so vast,

No shores or coastlines,

Or fences to cross,

No guiding signs.

Trudging solemnly,

Carrying oneself on,

The closer one gets,

Further away it has gone.

For that barrier,

Is, as seconds tick by,

Ever growing larger,

No matter how you try.

And a horror, thus,

It truly must be,

To be separated in time,

From that which you desire,

From that which you need.
