Ohzai

All of my stuff is in my room. We don't have to sleep on bunks! My room is small, but a heck of a lot more warmer than the forest. AND there's running water. Kyoryokuna would be jealous. They've given me a walkie-talkie, which is nice, I guess. 

CVC One to the vortex, CVC One to the vortex. the walkie-talkie buzzes. CVC One is Jacob's team; Matthew's team is CVC Two, and I'm still on Matthew's team. 

Knock, knock.

"Come in!" I yell back at the knocker. Eoin walks in wearing his full uniform; gun, watch, boots, everything. I smile up at him. 

"Wazzup?" I slur while trying to get my broadsword attached to my belt. He tilts his head from side to side and thinks, not much, but you need to go meet the rest of the team now.

"Oh, alright," I say as I finally get my broadsword on; it's such a pain! Eoin leads me through the base, mainly because it's a habit now. We wind up in a room where George, Matthew, and the woman that was trailing behind Matthew before are waiting for us. 

"Hey guys, I'm your new teammate!" I try to say as perkily as possible. George chuckles, but covers it up nicely by coughing.

The woman waves and says, "Hello, I'm Tessa. Nice to meet you." I smile back. She seems nice, more nice than George. Since I already know Matthew and Eoin, George goes next. 

"I'm George," George says, extending his arm out in greeting, "Did you grow up in Seattle, perchance?"

Seattle? How could he know that I grew up in Seattle?! Wait a second...... he's my friend George! 

"George! It's-it's you! Oh my God! But....how...?" I stammer. He smiles evilly, and all of our childhood memories whirl around my head. I completely ignore his hand and tackle him down onto the floor, bumping his head on the ground in the process.

"Hey, Abbey. It's nice to see that you still play football better than me."

"I take it you two know each other?" asks Matthew. I nod as I pull George back up. I haven't seen George since the day...... everything went wrong. I sigh softly as I remember Colin's eyes staring up at the sky and being glasslike. And then the man with the scar. My blood boils at the thought. 

"Is everyone ready for our first mission?" asks Matthew. I nod, and so does everyone else. "Good, because it's tomorrow.
