“NO, you’re sick. Working is off limits. Jesus. I don’t want you dead!” Pinanlakihan pa ng mga mata ni Arianna si Angelo.

Hindi naman napigilang matawa ni Angelo nang gamitin niya ang line nito sa kanya noon.

 

“Now, you’re talking.”

She just chuckled.

 

“What’s there to do? Impress the Japanese and what? Just. Chicken”, she even smiled arrogantly. Kayang kaya niya ‘yun, ‘no.

 

“You know only little about this. I’m allowed to feel nervous. You blow this off, you’ll carry the burden for the rest of your life.”

Aba’t kinonsensya pa siya?

 

“Whatever, you’ll get to kiss your millions away anyway.” She even rolled her eyes, teasing him.

 

“You witch.” Hahablutin sana siya ni Angelo paupo sa kama, kaso nakaiwas siya.

They both laughed.

See? Well, she’s fine. Doing good. Getting along with the pain knowing Troy was there somewhere she can’t be.

Nakalimutan niya na posible nga pala. Posible palang maging masaya kahit nasasaktan ka.

And for her? As long as she has Angelo.

 

“Seriously, kinakabahan ako”, ulit na naman ni Angelo.

 

“How many loads of that line do you still have in there before they run out? ‘Kukulili na ‘ko sa ‘yo, ha. Isang buong araw mo ‘kong binriefing kahapon at hindi mo pa pinatawad kanina, pero kabadong kabado ka pa rin? Wala ka bang tiwala sa’kin?”

 

“Not with this one, no.”

 

“Ouch.” Humawak pa siya sa dibdib niya. “Trust issue.”

But Angelo just gave away a hearty laugh.

Lakas ng loob niyang gawing biro ang trust issue kay Angelo, ‘no? Kung iba ang naging asawa niya, baka sinumbat na agad sa kanya ang trust issue na ‘yan.

 

“You’re going to get this for me, right?” Angelo asked once more.
