Chapter 3

Riley

My wolf was screaming, "Mate!" in my head so loudly that I could barely even register that it was happening that I became stunned. I was so happy I smelled my mate but my stomach started to feel queasy and the palms of my hands began to sweat.

"Hello? Earth to Riley!" shouted Alex while snapping her fingers in front of my face. "Huh? Oh, sorry Alex." I said uncertainly. "Why did you just zone out like that Riles?" asked Alex with a concerned look on her face.

"I-I uhh-" RING! "Oh, come on Alex, the bell just went let's go and head to class. "I said quickly with a sigh of relief. as I was saved by the bell

We walked to our homeroom and sat at the back as usual. Alex and I were very fortunate to have all our classes together, so we could always piggy back off each other if we didn't understand what the teacher was saying or to have a small study session together.

When I went to my class, the scent grew weak and I was suddenly saddened at the thought of him far away from us, but I breathed a sigh of relief at the same time. "That's because he's our mate" said my wolf in a 'duh' tone. "No shit, sherlock." I replied sarcastically. She rolled her eyes and went to the back of my mind and disappeared.

I listened to our homeroom teacher, Mr Blake, welcoming us back as sophomores and after that I just looked out the window and could've sworn, I saw a pair of green eyes watching me.

I shrugged it off and continued to focus back on my class. After homeroom, I went to the girls' bathroom before heading to next period as my pen accidentally leaked onto my right sleeve. As the bell rang, I had just managed to scrub most of the ink away and grumbled under my breath, "Great. Now, I'll be late for class." I just rolled my eyes and headed to my locker. Half way there, I smelt the scent again. I picked up my pace and then I felt a pair of hands grab my wrists and slam me against the lockers. I felt a lot of sparks and shocks and a shiver went down my spine and it didn't fool me that it was my mate.

I looked up and saw my mate. I gasped when I saw who my mate was.

But when I looked into his green eyes, I saw disgust and anger. "Listen up here bitch because I'm only gonna say this once." he said with a cold voice. "You are not my mate. I mean come on! I'm the future alpha and the bad boy. You're just a nerd and a nobody."

I just gazed at him quietly and just shrugged it off. "I, Daniel Anderson, reject you, Riley Falls, as my mate." he said to me after he slammed me against the lockers and held my hands above my head. He just stood there with a smirk and thought that I would breakdown into tears. Well, think again, jerkwad!

And do you know what I said to him? I said three words that gave him a shock so that he actually loosened his grip on my arms and just stood there with an 'o' shaped mouth.

I said,

"I don't care."
