Hi, how are you?

Do you remember me?

Do you recognize my voice, my face, my eyes?

What is this place you're in right now?

What am I looking at, from my place inside the mirror of your past?

A broken bottle on the floor

It used to hold alcohol

Alcohol that now numbs the pain

Pushes away the nightmares and ghosts of the past

Do you remember?

Do you remember the way you used to be able to laugh at anything

How you used to dream impossible dreams

You woke up smiling, instead of crying and dreading the day ahead

Do you remember the way you used to fight

And not back down for anyone

Now your thoughts wander the depths of your black, clouded mind

The bruises cover your smile

The heartache crushed your spirit

And the betrayal snatched your soul

Do you remember who you are/were?

Your spontanious outbursts of laughter and screams of joy?

Everywhere you went people would see your light

Your kind heart and trust in others around you

No more do you show your gifts, your spirit

No more do you show yourself

Where have you hidden yourself

I can't believe you're gone

I refuse to believe you're gone

Look into my eyes

Look at yourself

Remember!

Don't back down, not anymore

Get up, get sober, start picking up the pieces of your heart, your life

As long as you're breathing it's not too late

With every breath you take, you can turn the tables on the darkness

Find your inner light

Nourish it, cherish it, make it grow

Make it grow and let it blind the darkness, push it away from you

And then start over
