Chapter 52 – on the run in Paris

Landing in Paris should be the most astonishing moment of your life. Most would cheer, be filled with gratitude or even brag with their friends. It was the total opposite for Giselle. The only reason she felt any type of contentment was because if she landed, that meant she’d be alive enough to punch James square in the face.

The plane halted with a jolt before screeching on the ground it had landed on. Giselle bit back bitter tears as she hit her side on the wall nearest to her. They were only bitter because she was somewhat glad to still be alive. On the other hand, the landing was definitely going to leave her a bruise.

As quick as the plane landed was as quick Giselle stood up right and walked over to James. In moments she was before him, scrutinizing his fearful expression. She cocked her arm back while clenching a fist, causing him to flinch and jump back. Jasmine grabbed her arm before she could make another move.

“We don’t have time for that, Giselle.” Jasmine muttered. “Plus he’s already half passed terrified and might have a heart attack.”

Giselle pulled her arm out of Jasmine’s grip before standing upright and letting out an angry sigh. “Fine.” She muttered quickly.

James sagged his shoulders in relief.

“But don’t think this is over.” Giselle added before poking him in the chest. It wasn’t as if the situation was so serious that she needed to result to violence. But the reality of the situation was, the anger burning in her wanted to be released.

James was just an easy target.

As quick as lightning Giselle and Jasmine ignored the pilot on the intercom and headed for an exit. It was as if they both knew that they didn’t have much time and even if they did, time couldn’t be wasted on a plane hold up. It wasn’t like they could do anything about it.

Besides that they knew millions of questions were about to be thrown into their face. What was the reason for the crash? What happened to the door? What did you do? What did Giselle do? It was just a matter of time before everything hit the fan and before their entire plan was revealed.

            That couldn’t happen.

With the quickness they rushed out. James watched them with wide eyes. He was too afraid to chase after them but also too smart to know not to get involved. He was old yet wise. Some things were just better to be left alone.

Giselle walked off the plane to realize the entire side of the plane was in shreds. It was a miracle that the plane didn’t flip over or injure their lives. Then again, the adrenaline Giselle was feeling was probably blocking out any pain or head trauma she was feeling.
