“Your beautiful,” Joe breathed softly into my ear as we lay intertwined in a white sheet, on my full size mattress I had placed strategically in the middle of my bedroom. I smiled softly st him, before his lips softly touched mine, only for me to start hearing Rhianna’s Rude Boy interrupt his speech. He was talking, but I couldn’t hear him.
I blinked my eyes a few times to realize I was lying alone on my bed and it was my cell phone going off. I groaned a bit, till I seen Joe’s face in my mind. I smiled and answered my phone in a little bit of a cheerier voice than usual.
“Hello?” I asked.
“Deanna... it’s Wills... where are you?! we were supposed to meet at the mall almost 20 minutes ago!” my best friends voice said, coming through the phone. She sounded upset.
“Oh shit, Williana,” I said, making her grown. She hated he full name. I don’t get it, but apparently her parents were hippies or obsessed with the early 1800s when that name was probably last popular.
“Well, dammit, hurry up bitch...” she said, annoyed.
“Ya know... I’ve noticed you call me bitch allot... it’s not exactly an endearing term,” I said, frustrated.
“Alright shit head, get here.. now..” she spoke sarcastically.
“That’s a little better,” I chuckled, and we hung up so I could get ready. I raced down to the bus stop and the moment I stepped on and looked all the way in the back my heart stopped. Joe.... I hadn’t seen him in three days... since we first met, but yet here he was, skinny jeans, that damn hoodie, sunglasses, but the smile that erupted on his face as i made my way back was unmistakable.
“Hey D....” he said, softly, as I perched myself next to him.
“Joe... right?” I said, trying to play it off. He chuckled gently and nodded.
“Yup, that’s me...” he said, smirking behind his shades and hoodie.
“So.. where you headed..” I asked.
“I’m not quite sure yet....” he said, “I’m still...... working on that....” I looked at him a little confused. Well, that was a strange thing to say.
“Okay......” I said, awkwardly, “Let me rephrase.. where are you taking the bus to?” He laughed heartily, that laugh I enjoyed so damn much.
“Back home...” he said, softly.
“Where’s that?” I asked. He chuckled.
“So many questions....” he said, smiling. We stopped in front of the mall, across from an apartment complex and he stood.
“You live here huh?” I asked, smiling at him as I noticed Wills standing outside, tapping her foot impatiently. We stepped out and her eyes fell on Joe as her mouth fell open.
“See you around Deanna...” he said, smiling, ‘Have a good day...” I smiled.
“Later Joe...” I said, and Wills took my arm. She ushered me into the mall, staring at Joe’s ass as we walked away.
“Who... Is that fine specimen of a man...” she asked, once we were safely inside.
“Joe...” I said, “Joe Jonas...” She sighed.
“Sexy name for a sexy guy... “ she started,m “WAIT! Is he the mystery bus guy.. the one who gave you his number?!?!” I nodded and she looked at me raised eyebrow.
“He’s the hottie.... the number guy.. WHY HAVEN’T you CALLED him?!?!??!” she finished.
“Cuz I don’t do relationships, Wills,” I said, “You were lucky enough to claw your way in.”
“That is because I am fabulous,” she said in a fake British accent, flipping her brown hair behind her shoulder. I laughed.
“That you are... and frisky...” I laughed. She smiled triumphantly and nodded.
“So tell me more... where’s he live, what’s he do?” she asked. i shrugged.
“I don’t know... he’s kinda mysterious...” I said, “Don’t talk much.. just makes small talk....”
“Well, I think it’s sexy.. all dark and quiet...” she said, “It’s the quiet ones who can rock a head board...”
“How would you know, virgin?” I scoffed. She glared a bit and I giggled.
“Well, how would you?” she asked, “Oh... right... Jason.. douche bag.. i swear, if I ever meet him.. I’ll beat him.” I laughed. Jason was my ex and we were together for two years... before I finally gave up my virginity, only to find him vanished the next day and finding out he had been cheating on me for pretty much our entire relationship. He was an ass and the reason I refuse to let myself get close to Joe.
