"Where to?"

"Do you know anywhere I could get a good cup of coffee that'd be open right now? I really need a cup to help sober up," I sigh. This is why I don't drink my head is pounding.

"Yeah." He starts the old truck and a soft acoustic song starts to play. I recognize the artist as Go Radio once the song plays out of the speakers.

"Goodnight moon?" I ask smirking to myself that this boy would ever be interested in one of my favorites.

"Erhm yeah. If you don't like it you can change it I guess," he says his cheeks slightly pink.

"No, no, I love this song." I lightly smile at his embarrassment. This boy seems different than his apperance. "So I still don't know your name," I say slightly in an asking tone.

"I suppose you don't," he says smirking as his eyes glisten from a passing street light.

"Well?" I ask waiting for a response.

"Harry." His smile is warm and welcoming as he glances over at me.

"Harry. I'm Bree, nice to meet you." I hold out a hand.

He gently laughs shaking his head. "You're so proper."

"I'm polite. Unlike some people," I say setting my hand back in my lap.

"Like who?" he asks in a teasing tone.

I shake my head trying not to smile. I fail miserable as a wide grin spreads across my face.

Harry pulls his truck in front of a small diner with a red open sign blinking through the window. He opens the car door and gets out walking towards the shop.

"Well. I guess we're going in now," I say to myself. I get out jogging to catch up to him and he opens the shop door, me following behind.

"You can go ahead and take a seat anywhere you like," a young blonde waitress says throwing us a fake smile. Harry walks right past her with out saying a word and her smile drops as she looks at him with a rude glance.

"Thank you," I say with an apologetic look to make up for Harry's behavior.

I follow him back to a booth in the corner of the diner. I sit on the opposite side of Harry. The diner is empty due to the late hour.

The blonde comes back to take our orders and she doesn't look too happy. "Hi, I'm Katlynn, are you ready to order?" she asks with no attempt to hide her frown.

"Yes, could I have a black coffee please?" I ask as she scribbles on her notepad.

"And for you?" she asks Harry impatiently.

"Hm," he says chewing on his lip ring and looking over the diner menu in front of him. "Well-I, hm."

Katlynn sighs loudly as Harry tries to hide a smirk.

"Okay, could I have a cheeseburger and fries?" he asks her.

"Sure," she says writing down his order.

"Oh you know what make it a double."

"Ok," she says her tone clearly frustrated. "Is that all?"

"And tea. I need some tea with cream and sugar." His face remains blank even when Katlynn rolls her eyes walking away from the booth.

"Harry!"

"What?" he asks innocently.

"Try being nice."

"Why? She's just some random chick who's obviously a snobby bitch."

"Harry stop," I scold.

He laughs lightly to himself. It's a lovely and heavenly sound but slightly pained like he's not fully happy. It makes my heart melt. I feel like I know him. Like I know this boy, and I feel so passionate about it. I don't know why.

I don't know why I'm even here, at 1 AM in a diner with a boy I've never met. Honestly I have no idea what I'm doing.

Our waitress walks up to our booth holding a tray with Harry's food and our drinks. "Oh you're back for more? They always come back just never this soon," he temptingly smirks his dimple popping out on his cheek.

"You might want to control your boyfriend," she says placing our order on the table.

"Me? Oh, no. We're not dating," I reply my cheeks slightly reddening.

"What?" Harry looks at me with a hurt expression. "Babe, I'm sorry, just don't deny our relationship," he still has that same cheeky look plastered on his face as my stomach dances with butterflies.

God, it really is late, and the alcohol in my system is making me feel and think all sorts of things I shouldn't. I need to go home soon before I end up thinking I might have feeling for some jerk.

I roll my eyes at his comment even though it didn't bother me.

"Anything else?"

"No I think that's it, thanks," I tell her.

"You can go ahead and pay at the front when you're done." Katlynn walks away and I grab my mug sipping up the warm coffee.

I feel better by the time half of the cup is empty.

I stare out the window next to me as rain lightly drizzles down outside. I breathe on the window making a fog cloud and draw a heart. I watch it on the window and absent mindedly my hand reaches up and draws a squiggled line in the middle of it. I watch it slowly fade away until the heart completely disappears. Tiny rain droplets race down the window and I feel lost in my thoughts of heart ache and love until I notice Harry watching me intently his soft pink lips perched in questioning thought.

"Broken hearted?"

I nod my head taking another swig of my drink.

"I know how you feel," he says bitterly.

I don't know what to say when I see the pain slowly etching his face. Then it turns to anger as he asks "You ready to go?"

"I guess," I state taking one last drink of coffee, emptying the cup.

"Okay." He gets up and I do too walking to the front desk area. A nice looking old woman sits behind it reading a family magazine.

"How much?" I ask her as Harry gives her a handful of cash. "Harry," I say as he interrupts

"Just let me pay, Bree."

"Okay fine, thank you," I give in not wanting to argue with him since he seems to be in a worse mood then usual. 'Usual' as if I know him; I'll never see him again after tonight.

"So, where now?" he asks.

"I could just walk home I don't live too far from here."

"But it's dark outside. I'm driving you," he says in a stern tone. I don't reply because I really don't want to walk home alone in the middle of the night.

The lady hands him back some bills and we walk out as I tell her a quick thank you. We walk to Harry's truck and I open my door sitting in the seat and buckling my seat belt. Harry gets in and starts the car, the music immediately turning back on. I give him directions to my apartment and the rest of the ride is silent besides the music playing in the background. As he pulls up into the parking lot of my apartment building I unbuckle and he stops the car.

"Thank you Harry, for everything."

"Sure," he replies and bites his lip. Time feels frozen and I can't get myself to break eye contact for what feels like an eternity.

He places a hand on my knee and slightly smiles with his eyes which breaks me of the trance.

I get out of the car and walk up to my apartment thankful I found my keys quickly so I didn't get too wet from the rain. I decide on taking a shower in the morning since I'm too tired and quickly wash my makeup off. I slip into my favorite pair of yoga pants and an old band t shirt and throw my hair up into a bun.

I get into my bed with my mind thinking of Harry. He's such a complex mystery. One minute he's a direct rude asshole and the next he's a dorky little boy with a shy smile.

I shouldn't be thinking about him, he's just a stranger who won't be in my life ever again.

Well, I guess he's not a stranger anymore since I know his name and he knows mine, but it still wont go anywhere.
