Chapter 11
Heather's POV
I was behind Brian on his motorcycle, I didn't know where we were going, but I couldn't speak. I have never noticed that I was afraid of riding motorcycles (maybe because I have never been on one before)
I think I was crushing Brian, but he didn't seem to notice or felt uncomfortable enough to say something about it.
We were going between cars on the streets, until I realized where we were going.
We were now near central Park, my favorite place in NY and in my favorite season of the year. (Ha! I felt like Cameron Diaz on Charlie's Angels, when Pete asked her out) he drove the motorcycle until we reached a small bench which was in front of the lake. He stopped and turned to look at me.
"Hey, are you alright?" he asked me (he must have noticed my face)
"Yeah" I just wanted to get off the motorcycle.
"Let me help you" he said
He grabbed my hand and helped me to get off his ride.
"Come" he said while pulling me after him.
"Sit" We both sat on the bench.
"This is really beautiful" I told him
"Yep, this is one of my favorite places here in the city"
"Really? It is also one of mine's" (Wow, if I ever saw Brian on the street I will never think of him as a sweet guy, I will probably think that he was more like "party till the sun comes up" guy).
"I really like to come here, and think. There are not lots of places where I can think freely without people judging me or watching every step I take. I don't like to be the center of attention" (I don't think being a model helped him)
"Yeah, you must be thinking that I'm crazy. Who would think being a model, and not expect getting attention?"
"Kind of" I answered him
"Well, is not something hard to explain. My father died, my mom was depressed and we didn't have any money, so I looked for a job. While I was looking for one, my agent found me and offered me one, so there you have it. The story of my life"
"I'm sorry about your dad, and I don't want you to feel like I'm pressuring you to tell me something about your life, but if you want to talk about it, I'm here to hear you out. I know what it feels not having someone with whom you can talk and being comfortable"
"Thanks, Heather. It really means a lot to me... and I don't want you to feel pressured either. This isn't a date or anything, look at it as if... we are friends who are getting to know each other"
"I think that's great" I smiled at him. I just started to act like a real girl, I wasn't looking for more pressure... like thinking about a boyfriend or something, but at the same time I felt a little disappointed because he dismissing the idea of me as something more than a friend so easily.
We talked, and talked. We didn't even notice when it started getting dark. I haven't even called Susanne. Shit! I need to go, but I don't want to. Brian is so sweet and he is hearing every word I say without trying to get in my pants, like most of the guys in school. (Not that I know much about the subject, but being invisible as I am most of the times I get to listen the things that the other girls say about guys).
"Do you have to go?" asked Brian. I think I wasn't good at hiding my feelings.
"Yep" he looked sad, like he didn't want to let me go. (Believe me that was the last thing I wanted to do. To go back to Susanne's to see the JERK's face)
"It's just that my parents left the town, and I'm staying with one of their friends. They were really worried yesterday after I came back late".
"Oh. It's okay, I also have to go because I have a photo shoot tomorrow" We both stood up and went to his motorcycle.
I checked my cell phone and it was off. OMG! I hope nobody has called me (by nobody I mean LUCY)
"What time is it?"
"11pm" he said
Already. WOW! Time flies when you are having fun.
"I think we didn't notice the time?" he said with a smile on his face
"No, I guess not" I said
We both got on his bike, and I put the helmet on.
"Where do you live?" asked Brian. I told him Susanne's address. (I hope she isn't worried)
I hope you enjoy this chapterr
