“Damnit, can it get any colder?” I yelled, wrapping another blanket around me.

“What’s with the yelling?” The door to my office slide opened. I glared at Shuhei as he walked in and over to me. He had another stack of paper work in his hands.

“Is there always this much paperwork?” I asked Shuhei as he placed the stack of papers onto my already huge stack of papers, making the stack even bigger. Shuhei’s gaze drifted to me. He smirked.

“There wouldn’t be so much paper work to do if you actually did it, Sam” said Shuhei. I groaned.

“How does anyone expected me to do paperwork in this cold? Maybe if they actually fixed the heater I could concentrate on doing them instead of keeping myself warm” I complained. Shuhei chuckled. “What’s so funny, Hisagi?” I asked him. I never used Shuhei’s last name unless I was mad at him. I wasn’t mad at him though, I was mad at this stupid weather. I hate the cold more than anything. Shuhei shrugged his shoulders.

“Oh nothing” he said. I rolled my eyes.

“Whatever” I mumbled.

“Well I’d better get going. I have work to do as well. If you need anything just come and find me” Shuhei said as he turned around and headed towards the door.

“There is something that you could do” I said, stopping Shuhei in his tracks. Shuhei turned around and gave me a questionable look.

“Oh” he said, questionably. I smirked.

“See these blankets aren’t enough. Do you think you could help me warm up?” I asked my voice turning into a teasing manner. A slight blush formed on Shuhei’s face.

“You do realize that anyone could walk in” said Shuhei, shyly. I laughed.

Shuhei’s P.O.V

Why is she laughing?’ I asked myself as I started at Sam laughing loudly.

“I didn’t mean it like that,” Sam laughed harder, “I met could you get me some more blankets. I used all mine up” said Sam. She was clutching her sides because she began to laugh so hard. My face turned bright red.

“Damnit, Samantha, quit doing that” I yelled. Sam stopped laughing, not completely though.

“Quit doing what, Shuhei?” asked Sam. I cleared my throat.

“You know exactly what I mean” I mumbled. Sam tilted her head slightly.

“Actually I don’t” said Sam. I sighed loudly.

“Forget about it” I said. I turned around and put my hand on the door, sliding it open.

“Ah is Shuhei upset?” asked Sam. I stopped. I was upset. I’ve liked Sam for the longest time, but Sam is the joking type. Not a serious type.

“No” I lied. I wasn’t going to give her the satisfaction of letting her know that she got to me. My body tensed when I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I looked behind me. Sam was smiling up at me.

“Man, Shuhei, you don’t know how to take a joke” said Sam, shaking her head back and forth.

“I do know how to take a joke. It’s just you shouldn't be teasing people like that. They may get the wrong idea” I said. Sam looked up at me, her face turning serious.

“I wasn’t teasing you” said Sam.

“Do you think you could help me warm up, that’s not teasing?” I asked. Sam smiled.

“I actually met that” Sam said as she turned around and walked over to her desk, sitting down. I looked at Sam, shocked.

Sam’s P.O.V

“Wh-wh-what?” stuttered Shuhei. I looked over at him.

“I was teasing when I said I didn’t mean it like that. I wasn’t teasing when I asked if you could help me warm up” I said, seriously. I’ve liked Shuhei since I met him, which was the day I became lieutenant of squad 13; 10 years ago. I’ve always teased and joked around with him, however, but that was because I was afraid of rejection.I wasn’t anymore though. Shuhei walked over to my desk, placed both his hands on top of it, and leaned towards me.

“Don’t play around with me, Samantha” said Shuhei, seriously. I sighed.

“I’m not” I mumbled. Shuhei leaned closer to me, leaving our faces a few inches apart.

“What?” asked Shuhei.

“I wasn’t playing around. I like you” I stammered. Shuhei looked at me shocked. My heart fell to my stomach. “I know you don’t feel the same way” I said, softly. Shuhei chuckled. I looked up at him questionably. I was about ready to ask him what was so funny until he slammed his lips against mine. The kiss was breathtaking. Moments later Shuhei pulled away and rested his forehead against mine, making full eye contact with me.

“I like you too, Sam” said Shuhei. My heart skipped a beat. I smiled. “So do you still want me to warm you up?” asked Shuhei, seductively. A smirk formed on my lips. I pulled him into another kiss. This kiss, however, was full of lust.

“Does that answer your question?” I asked him as I pulled away.
