I'm just trying to make something of myself,
trying to be what you want me to be...
But no matter how hard I try,
How hard I work for it,
It's not enough.
You'll alwyas want me to be more,
More than I am.
You'll always want me to stand in your image,
Not straying,
Not living my own life.
You've never been a great person,
Never made the perfect decisions,
So why do you want me to?
You don't realize..
That when you feel that you keep making me better,
Making me strive to be higher,
Higher in society,
You don't help me up,
Don't help me foward,
You're still stuck holding me back.
