Skyarlette’s P.O.V

The penetrating light on my eyelids were what woke me up the next morning. I blinked lazily as I tried to focus my vision properly to rid of the blurriness. As my eyes looked around and took in the surroundings, they landed on the bare chest in front of me. Without meaning to, they trailed downward until the V-line was visible but the rest was concealed by the sheets. My gaze snapped up to Justin’s face as a blush crept onto my face at the thought of me checking Justin’s body out while he was asleep like some deranged creeper. His eyelids flickered naturally so it lead me to let out a breath of relief knowing that he was still fast asleep. Had he have caught me.....I would never hear the end of it. Easing his arms from around my waist I tried to slip out of his makeshift bed until his arms retightened themselves and brought me back into his chest. I huffed as I struggled to break away from his grasp but he just drew me back in with a small chuckle.

“Going somewhere?” Rolling my eyes, I continued my struggle to free myself of his vice grip.

“Do you mind easing up on the sumo hold?” I asked, looking back at him.

“Nope; we’re gonna lie in all day,” he said with a shrug.

“If you want to; sure! But I know that I ain’t spending the whole day in the same tent as you; are you nuts? I'm already losing brain cells as it is lying right next to you,” I scoffed with a laugh.

“Says the one that thought Antarctica was a continent, right?” he said while trying to hold back a laugh but failing.

“Hey! That was only one time! Everyone has dumb moments from time to time ya know,” I grumbled crossing my arms stubbornly with a pout.

“Sure,” he replied sarcastically like he didn’t believe a word I just said.

“Whatever, just ease up on the grip please?” I begged.

“I think we should stay in today and just get to know each other a bit more since we’re past the stage where I don’t have to fear for my life by just being in a two metre radius from you,” he snorted while proving a valid point.

“Why are you so eager to spend time with me when I clearly would want to be anywhere else than in the same room as you?” I asked shaking my head.

“I told you already; I like you,” he said bluntly while shrugging his shoulders like it was no big deal.

“As in like, like me?”

“Yup. So how about we take turns asking each other questions; and please be honest because I will.” After hearing that come from him, I couldn’t help but find it weird that he could freely express his emotions towards me. I mean, aren’t boys supposed to be mysterious and make you keep questioning yourself whether they like you or not?

Strange boy.

“Sure, I guess.” I sighed in reluctance.

“What do you want to pursue as a career?”

That stumped me for a few seconds, having never really thought that far into the future; but that didn’t stop me from replying, “I don’t really know what I want to do yet. I feel that I want to have an open mind and do what makes me happy, ya know? At the moment, I think I can envision myself doing something with helping others in some type of way. And not simple ways like being a fashion consultant or that, I mean helping others grieve over death, or trying to get them to pull themselves out of dark habits,” I finished, looking away from the top of the tent that I had absentmindedly focused my eyes on while talking to him.
