Chapter 5

"Ya'll have got to be kidding me. This is a load of BS. I'm 17 years old. I already have too much responsibility. I don't need anymore. So I am not getting married." I yelled.

"Your responsibilities are your fault Darren. You could've avoid that but no you gave into peer pressure so don't talk about too much responsibility. Don't you dare." My mom said sternly.

I looked at them all then ran up to my room and locked the door. I grabbed my phone and called Gelli.

"Hello..."

"Hey Gelli, guess what the 'rents did." I said as calmly as I could.

"Psyche! I'm not here. Leave-"her voicemail started.

I sighed, "Damn Gelli. I fucking hate that. Give me a call when you get this." I said.

I plopped down on my bed and plugged my iPod head phones in and turned the volume all the way up to block out the noise of the house.

Rory's POV

Damn. I thought this would be easy. Get her, marry her and have an heir for the throne but no she makes things so complicated. Why couldn't she be like the girls that would be at my feet begging to get into bed with me.

Ugh man, what are mom and dad going to say about me trying to marry a human. I mean it's forbidden for an immortal creature to get with a human and mate but things can change right.

I mean I think I'm starting to feel something for the mortal. What?! No, I can't feel anything for her. I just need to marry her and have a child and nothing more.

I shook my head from the thoughts and walked up to her room to bring her back down. I got there and tried to twist the knob but it wouldn't budge. It was locked. I knocked a couple of time but I got no answer. I was about to bust the door down but I sensed someone coming up behind me. I turned and came face to face with Joseph, Darren's father.

"She's mad right now and I doubt the idea of her having to marry a stranger is making her happier. Let her cool down. We'll talk about this later." He said walking back down the stairs.

I followed him and sat back down on the couch. I looked over at him and Carrey and gave them a questioning look.

"When she said she had too much responsibility, what exactly did she mean by that?" I asked.

Know you're probably wondering 'Hey I thought you could read minds. Why not read her mind about what responsibilities she has?' Well, I don't use my powers to invade people's thought when I'm not wanted or just to pry for info, of course if it was important I would but...

"Well about a year ago Darren..."
