Fiction

I loved Jimmy with all my heart. I adored him. He was always happy and crazy. He made me smile; something not many people knew how to do. He introduced me to my best friends and taught me how to play drums. I would never compare to him though. He was my everything.

I met him when I was fifteen. Avenged Sevenfold was just starting to form around that time. They had a show at a little place I used to go to see bands play. I was in the back leaning against the wall in my faded jeans and black tank top. My black hair hung down to my chest and my green eyes were glossy from crying just an hour before the concert. My dad had beaten me once again. I was even sporting a fat lip. I could just tell people my lip ring had gotten infected. Only my dad and I would know the truth.

As soon as Jimmy walked on stage our eyes met. I shyly looked away, embarrassed. During the entire concert he kept making eye contact with me. I had yet to move from my spot against the wall until they had stopped playing. After the show I left with every intention to go straight home. However I heard someone calling to me.

“Hey wait!”

I turned in the parking lot to see a tall boy with spiked blond hair in an orange kimono. It was the drummer. My mood was lifted just by his appearance. I liked how he stood out. Even though he dyed his hair black and retired the kimonos later on he was still always wild and crazy. He was a class all his own.

“I’m Jimmy.” He smiled. “I was staring at you while we were playing.”

So blunt, so obvious.

“And you’d be lying if you said you weren’t doing the same thing.” He added.

I nodded, a smile finally finding its way to my lips. “I was looking at you.” I whispered.

“What happened?” His fingers caught my chin and forced me to look up. Hi thumb prodded my lip.

I yanked my head away. “Just an infection.”

“You’re lying.” He said bluntly.

“I need to go.” I muttered, turning to leave.

“I better see you again.” He said sternly. “You’re god damned hot.”

I saw him again when I was hiding from my dad in the park. He was chasing a duck and ran right passed me. When he saw me he ran up to me and asked why my nose was bleeding. I didn’t answer. I just let him take my hand and lead me to Brian’s home, where Jimmy was currently living. I cleaned the blood off my face and told him what happened.

“So you won’t mind staying here for a while, right?” He said.

I didn’t know why. I knew it wasn’t smart and that I didn’t know these people or who the strange drummer was that kept talking to me was but, I agreed to stay with him and Brian for the time being.

“You still haven’t told me your name.” He stated.

“It’s Stella Elle.”

I had a lot of fun with Jimmy and Brian. Brian’s parents liked me too. My dad never tried to find me so I was content living where I was and sneaking in to my previous house at night with Jimmy to steal my own clothes. Jimmy was the first one to make me smile sense my mother left with I was thirteen.

He always knew how to make me happy. He introduced me to Zacky, Matt and Johnny too. They were all like brothers to me. We were a family.

When we graduated high school we started dating. It just seemed right. We loved each other and he had saved me from a horrible life and given me a new amazing one. He gave me a life I would never give up. I gave him my first kiss as well as my virginity and never regretted a single moment with him.

When starting going on tour, I toured with them. I would be a merch girl with Matt’s girlfriend, Val or help set up. I would drive the van we used and starve due to our lack of money. I would enjoy every second of it because I was with Jimmy.

He gave me more than I ever could have asked for and then some. He was my angel.

We had a nice house in Huntington. We always had fun. We would throw parties or sometimes just sit on the couch and watch cartoons. Jimmy would never let me stay home when he went on tour. He always had me go with him.
