Memoirs of a Teenage Vampire Queen

Startled, I looked up from my cup of hot chocolate.

"I'm sorry, I don't think I heard that correctly. What the hell did you just say?" I asked, shaking my head in confusion.

"You are the last of your line. Given up for adoption in hopes to protect you from this world, to be raised by disgusting little humans. On the eve of your 18th birthday, your lust for blood will run deep into your soul, your body will die and rise again, your fangs will grow out, your senses will become sharper, your heart will stop. This process will take no longer than 24 hours, and when it is complete, you shall ascend to the throne, My Queen." He bluntly repeated in a patient tone, and bowed, just as he had before.

1 month earlier

------------------------------------

A woman stood before me, her face hidden by a shadow. She wore a fitted wine colored strapless dress, that ran the length of her body. The bottom portion of the dress was two colors, the red silky material cutting at a slant and the same kind of material, black, took its place in hiding her legs. The bottom of the red slant had black embroidering and black beading running up in an elegant style. Her black hair, beautiful and long, fell loose around her body, the loose curls at the ends rubbing against her waist. One hand extended towards me, the other hand on her stomach.

"My daughter, long have they been in search of you. Do not be afraid. I love you." She said with a tone of importance.

I jumped, startled, as my alarm went off. I reached over, eyes still closed and attempted to hit the snooze button several times, before it finally crashed to the floor, just beyond my reach. I groaned and slid my glasses on. Immediately things started coming to life, a roomful of color hit me in the face. Alarm still blaring, I swung my body over my bed, hitting my head on the corner of my night stand. I cursed and slid my hand behind my bed to unplug my alarm. The beeping had stopped, but now my head throbbed.

I sat up in my bed, rubbing my head and thinking about the dream I'd just had. Fourth time this week if I remembered correctly. I sighed, shaking it off.

Time for my last month of school. I wouldn't be turning 18 for another 2 months, just in time for graduation parties! But this month, this month was dedicated to finals. Ew.

I pulled on a pair of black Average Joe Jeans, a hot pink baby doll shirt, and my pink and black DCs. I let my long black hair fall loose around me, the ends, in loose neat curls. I grabbed my homework assignments and went outside to my car, a 2004 black Honda Civic.

I stood there and stared at myself in my blacked out windows for a moment, and then gingerly slid in. As I turned the key, my car roared to life, my stereo gradually getting louder. With Bowling For Soups', High School Never Ends, pouring out of my speakers, I dug around in my purse for my phone. I clicked it on and texted my bestie, "I'm leaving my house now. Want a ride babe?", as I backed out of my garage and into my driveway. Ex-Girl Friend by No Doubt screamed through my phone, announcing the arrival of her response, scaring the life out of me. "Christine!!! Yes!! Pick me up!!! <3 Carmen"

---------------------------------------------

I parked my car in it's usual place, stall #7 in the teachers lot. Carmen and I walked towards the edge of the parking lot, just bordering the schools side walk.

Two tall blue eyed, blonds walked toward us, and I sighed.

"CHRISTINE!!!" They both squealed.

Carmen rolled her eyes and I laughed.

"Hey girls! Meet Carmen." I said with a big smile on my face.

They both looked at her like she had some sort of a disease, looking her up and down, pausing to look at each garment before giving a sneer.

"Uh, yeah. Hi." They both said in unison, lacking enthusiasm, and not making eye contact with her.

"Anyway, Chris, you feeling a bit emo today, darling?"

"Yeah, you look horrible."

"What's with those glasses?"

"Pants and shoes! Are you serious?!"

"You should put your hair up!"

"You want me to do your make up?"

"Is it that time of the month? Should I write you a note for gym?"

Raven and Brie alternated, both taking a turn in critiquing my wardrobe choice. I was tired and not at all about to put up with their bullshit.
