~Dana's POV~

The sun was nauseatingly bright in the clear sky. It was a mockingly pleasant late-summers morning when the hell hole known better as BVH opened it's rusty gates to allow hundreds of indifferent teenagers to trudge grudgingly out of their freedom.

I scowled as I screwed my eyes to squint at the scene around me before slowly dragging my tatty school bag with me along the dusty path that led towards the main school building.

It had been 10 whole minutes since I had arrived at the hiddeous school entrance and I still hadn't found Gerard, Mikey or Frank. Which was surprising, considering I thought I would at least be able to hear Frank by now. Oh how I was going to ring their puny little-boy necks if they all ditched on the very first day of the new school year. My nails scratched violently at the pocket of my green hoodie to retrieve my phone.  I hastily bashed out a message and sent it to the most reliable out of the three.

DaNa: Where the fuck are you? If you're ditching today I'm going to castrate you. X

There was no immiedate reply. I groaned in frustration and launched my phone haphazardly into the open pocket of my bag. It proceeded to hit the metal zip and bounce off and collided with the stained floor of the main corridor.

"Fuck!" I exclaimed loudly as I heard the 'crack' and saw the back of my phone sliding away from the flat battery. I sighed loudly and went to bend over to pick it up, annoyed at the amount of energy I was being forced to exert so early into the day.

I had reached the battery and was going to stretch for the shiny emerlad green plastic of the phone back when I saw a pale hand scoop it up quickly.

"Y'know, you should try to be more careful Dana." I heard a familar chuckle. "Someone could have tripped over that mess you made here."

"Where the hell have you been?" I asked as I saw Gerard's amused face swing into focus. "I tried texting Mikey because I thought he would be the most reliable but the little punk hasn't had the decency to reply to me yet." I folded my arms and looked at him expectantly.

"Sorry Dana, I'm just running a little late today." He said sheepishly. Then he frowned. "Why didn't you text me? Am I not reliable?" He jutted out his lower lip into a slight pout.

"It's not that you aren't reliable per say Gee. It's just that Mikey is more reliable. I mean he actually answers he phone within the hour rather than within the week." I chuckled, giving him a soft pat on the back in mocking comfort.

"I'm not sure whether to be extremely insulted or to refuse to talk to you for the rest of the day." Gerard pouted as he wiped an overexaggerated fake tear away from under his eye. "Maybe both."

"Aww don't cry sugar tits." I exclaimed as I pinched his pale cheeks between my thumb and forefinger and squeezed lightly. "You're more of a girl than me." I chuckled to myself as I snatched my phone out from the firm grasp of his hand where he had been dangling it before turning on my heel starting towards the end of the hallway.

"Dana, you didn't have to be so  cruel to me." Gerard continued to fake sniff as he shuffled after me down the corridor. "I don't even have tits and even if I did they wouldn't be described in terms of a sweet crystalline carbhydrate substance."

"Where did you learn such big words? I didn't think you could even read?!" I exclaimed, my voice dripping in sarcasm a I turned to face him once again.

"Hey, I'm not Frank!" He retorted in mock horror. "Besides I read a lot thank you, comics have words in them too, y'know." He sighed quickly and the masked his smirk in the most innocent face he could muster. "I don't know, if say, a certain someone was being mean to me, maybe I would just head on home for the day. " He pondered, finger posed on his chin.
