He sounded really desperate, I couldn't' take anymore. "Nic I hear them calling me downstairs." Then without waiting for him to say something I hung up on him. Fresh tears came to my eyes, as I turned out my lights and wept throughout the night.
Blue Light, that's all I could see, it was too bright, and then a flash, like lightning, flashed through the blue, it hurt my eyes to watch but I couldn't turn away. Then everything went black. I was blinded momentarily as the darkness overtook me. Then as my eyes adjusted I saw stars, millions to billions of them. It was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. Then the moon came into focus, and it was a blue moon, then it turned into an eclipse. It didn't seem real, like I was watching a fast-forward of it. It was moving too fast.
Then in the bush next to me I heard rustling, then in the next, all around me. I was surrounded; I was in a clearing of a field. And there was no way of getting away. But instead of panic, I felt anger, like they were eavesdropping, they weren't real this couldn't be happening. Not now! Then the rustling stopped, it was dead silence, like they could hear what I was thinking. I turned toward it trying to hear, then it jumped at me, it was black and it had bright yellow eyes that shone in the stars.
I bolted out of bed. And collapsed on the floor, dizzy from jumping up so fast. And I laid there for what seemed like forever. I looked up and Ayla was looking down at me in concern. I shook my head and got back into bed. I rolled over pulling the covers over my head, but not before seeing the alarm clock, ugh it's 5:30. I lied there for a couple of minutes before realizing that I needed to get out the sage. I got up and pulled out the marble bag in my top dresser, I put out my mat lit two candles and meditated with earth, wind fire and water pebbles in my hands. Trying to calm my speeding pulse. I closed my eyes and drifted off to a lonely lake where I could hear the ocean swells, and the smell of sea filled my nose as I completely gave myself over to the calming vision. When the alarm rang at 6:15 I felt as rested as if I had just taken a couple hours of nap.
I got up and dressed quickly, and packed my bag for the coming day, I could feel Nic in the back of my mind as I put my Science book on the table. He was tuning me out.
Nic? Are you listening? I half hoped he wouldn't answer. Yes, I'm always listening. I could feel how much this conversation was hurting him and I hated myself for it. Nic honey, I'm so sorry but I won't take the things I said earlier back. I completely believe that I'm doing the right thing. It's a lot safer- ¬I couldn't finish Nic cut me off. Whatever save it, no big deal, I'll live, also I can take care of myself, then he tuned me out. That hurt me more than I thought, but I couldn't think about it at the moment.
"Jasmyne! You know that if something big like this you should tell me!" Ayla said practically breaking down my bedroom door. "Why the hell didn't you tell me that Morganna found us, then that you made out with Nic? Do you know how big that is?!" I rolled my eyes and turned away, trying not to let the second part hurt me. "Jasmyne, did you really break the rules? Did you kiss him?" I closed my eyes, and held her hand and let her read my memories. She giggled when she read the kiss, but otherwise she was completely serious. Then I turned away, "please leave me Alone, I don't want to think about what I had to do, especially after I egged it on." "Jasmyne, do you know what this means?" excitement filled her voice to overflowing. "Honey nothing happened when you kissed him right?" I could feel Nic listening again. "No..." we both said together, Nic in my head, me out loud. "Then nothing will, it usually only happens on the first time. And you know that." Nic was listening openly, his head filled with the excitement that seemed to be flowing out of Ayla and soaring around the room. And straight into Nic. But I wasn't o assured, but all the information is pointing the opposite way, plus you saw the way my mom acted when she found out." I wasn't going to be so easily convinced unless there was more evidence. But I could feel myself hope nonetheless, and that could be dangerous, Hmm, sounds like we're gonna have to test it again, he sounded hopeful, like I would actually do it, I was about to tell him hell no when Ayla answered for me, "That's exactly what I mean, if we could prove that if the power is not pure lust, as in a one night stand then maybe it will change the way people look at it." I shook my head, "no way in hell would I let you do this! I don't fucking think so, where are we going to test this anyways? Huh? Have you fucking thought of that genius? What about all the innocent people that could be hurt, or worse Killed?" then I heard something behind me, the door opening, I turned expecting Kayla, but it was Nic, in my rage I hadn't realized that Ayla had called him over here. But before I could tell her to go to hell again, his lips covered mine, roughly. Like he was trying to prove something to me. Then I felt it, the power was growing inside of us, in between our touching bodies, the flare of pure power grew and grew but so did the Kiss, it seemed to amplify the affects, so you couldn't stop even if you wanted to. We held onto each other tighter, and we could hear Ayla yelling in the back round, but we couldn't stop.
