~Emma Pov~

A loud growl erupts throughout the room, startling me from my thoughts. Looking around to find the source my eyes land on a man who looks no older than eighteen. His chocolate brown hair became disheveled as he glides his hand through it.

Mate. The sound rang inside of me. Could he be my true mate? A feeling of satisfaction ran through my body while a burst of happiness mixes with it.

I almost growl when Liam positions his tall lean body in front of me, blocking my view of the mysterious supernatural.

"I apologize for my behavior. Please excuse me." The inexplicable man announces as tingles run down my spine. Pushing Liam out of the way I see the man leaving through the large wooden doors. I feel a tight hold on my arm, stopping me from going after him. I turn around to see none other than Liam. "No Em." He warns. His eyes filling with anger only infuriates me.

"Let go!" I scream. Everyone's eyes now shift to me. The poor acting skills of Liam become noticed as the look of fear becomes more present in his eyes as mine fill with fire. Taking my other hand I grab onto Liam's tight grasp on my arm, ripping it off.

Everyone's heated gaze helps me calm down a bit. I position myself in front of the audience, mouthing my apologies as I excuse myself from the awkwardness. Sprinting to the double oak wooden doors, pushing through them with all my might. I come to a halt, a strong musky scent slowly fades.

Looking in both directions I listen to my wolf to turn right. Quickly walking down the hallway his alluring scent grows, rounding the corner I stop in my tracks. Leaning up against the wall with his eyes held shut as though he is having an inner mind battle of his own.

I clear my throat softly, trying my best not to startle him. His eyes sprang open, falling upon me. Warm and inviting eyes captivated mine, sparkling with various emotions.

He pushes himself off the wall, standing around six feet tall. His athletic build evens out with his chiseled jaw. His crooked nose fit with his perfect features; perfect but imperfect.

Opening my mouth to say something I'm stop by the sound of Liam's voice, resounding through the hallway. "Em? Your guests would like us to start the first dance."

I sigh in protest, turning my back on the interesting stranger but not before sparing him one last glance. "It's Emma." I whisper in a low voice so only he can hear. He smiles a breathtaking smile which only made me smile even more.

I turn the corner to see Liam standing in the hallway with his arms crossed. Walking up to him he grabs my arm furiously. I can feel a heated gaze digging holes into my back, walking up to Liam. He's watching me.

"If you pull a stunt like that again, I will torture your family and make you watch." He whispers into my ear, making me beyond furious. I close my eyes, taking a deep breathe in. I can't flip out. I keep repeating to myself. Liam will not hurt them, will he?

What did I do to deserve this? I just found my mate and I didn't even catch his name. My father popped into my head as he said the words that I'm so fond of, "God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers." Looking at the ground I let a tear escape from my eye. Daddy is always right. It's how you approach the problem not how you solve it.
