Chapter 9
Lola's POV

Sky and I were cuddling on the bed when I heard a loud crash echo besides me. I bolted up right and Sky automatically tucked me into his warm, hard body protectively. "I don't need your protection!"I hissed to him arrogantly, as Sky jumped off the bed, completely unashamed and possibly unaware that he was walking around naked like a total bad ass....well his ass is gorgeous but I suppose you get what I mean. "What the fuck was that?"he growled lethally, his eyes glowing like blue jewels with flames of suspicion and stealth. "Gun shots,"I whispered in a small voice. That somehow didn't bother me that much, I mean, gun shots meant one thing, someone was trying to come after either me....or Sky....again.

When I remembered one minor detail, I was torn between a conflicting memory, and my heart plummeted into my stomach in a pitfall of fear. "Sky.....where's Ashton?"I gasped terrified by the thought that while we'd been getting down and dirty, Ashton was being victimized. "Don't worry he's with the retarded baby sitter,"Sky cooed soothingly to me, as he crept towards his drawers, slid the top one open discreetly and grabbed his gun from the compartment with concise speed and precision. "Thank God,"I breathed in exasperation, my voice hissing a little as I did. Sky gave me a crooked smile of reassurance on his sensual lips, before rechecking to see if his gun was loaded and he then tip toed over to the closed bedroom door.

He pressed his back against it, breathing in deeply and readying himself and then as he exhaled that breath of calm, he jerked it open. Naturally, we half expected to find someone with a gun behind it. What we didn't expect, was five guys with guns behind it. They had Sky's gun out of his hand in seconds of excellent skill and attempted to pin him to the floor. Luckily, he managed to kick and punch a few expertly but it was soon short lived. "NO!"I screamed in rage and terror when one of the guys snuck up behind him and wacked him with the head of his gun, knocking him to the floor. I could already see a bump forming on his head, as he lay motionless on the ground, and two of the guys dragged him out of the door frame. Why the fuck was I here watching the whole thing like a fool! I should be out there fighting!

But when I tried to move, my legs felt like ice, and my body was trembling in fear. The other three guys, moved their attention to me as they noticed my rigid frame. They took in my naked state, covered only by a sheet with the sickest kind of heat that disgusted me in their eyes. I pulled the sheet around me even tighter and flew off the bed, my back pressed against the cool wall at the other side of the room. A surge of adrenalin was flowing through my veins, and my heart was racketing against my ribs, making my breathing become quick and panicked. I would fight them damn it!

"No need to run. We'll have you where we want you with this,"one of the spat darkly, and then he lifted the nozzle of his gun and shot me, straight in the leg. I had this moment where I just stood there, knowing that I couldn't do anything if he shot me in the fucking heart, and that kind of deer caught in the headlights helplessness, caused me to feel sick with them and myself. I glanced down at my bare leg, to see a dart, and a two inch needle lodged deep into my flesh. My eyelids fluttered to a close, and when I collapsed, the last thing I heard was the distant and gut wrenching, "Guess what Lola Brooks? It's time to pay for burning the place down. If you try anything when you get up, just know we have your son and your boyfriend and your boyfriend's son."






Eli's POV

Eli was shoved into a damp dark room; the only sound was that of his own ragged breaths. He could feel the damp air constricting and heightening his sense of fear, and when he heard a distant but angelic sob in the background, his heart stopped. He turned his head slowly, as though afraid of what was happening and that was when he saw him.
Those beautiful golden and baby blue eyes held glistened and unshed tears and that dirty blonde and golden brown hair was plastered to his pale forehead. He looked a little gaunt, and that paled him, made the precious freckles dusted across his nose stand out more. He didn't deserve to look like that, a voice in Eli's head growled angrily, and the rest of him agreed forcefully."Are you another bad man?"he said brokenly, his voice sweet and so young and cute, he was sniffling between sobs in speech and it made Eli fee like collapsing to the floor in death for not being able to do anything. Unable to control himself, he crossed the room in two strides, pulled the little boy into him for a hug. The boy stiffened at first, and then as though realizing Eli wasn't going to hurt him, he began to cry even more. Eli pet his head and whispered and hummed to him, already enjoying the feel of his own son in his strong arms.
