Caving in with attention is the immortal servant known as Jaki. He begs to be let go, to be let free, he begs...every day. Though his cries are to no avail each moment they burst from lips, as are most cries on Handor.
Overlooking all of his servants, is Grall. His black cloak covers everything but his eyes. The only person to ever see his face is Jaki. Grall knows this, and punishes Jaki more than the others, pushing the image from his mind, reminding him what will happen if Jaki ever revealed Grall's true identity.
Jaki on this day is falling weak before noon when he would be getting a minute's rest. He falls weak and collapses. Only to wake up under a moon he has never seen before, next to a girl not far from his own age. She has fetched him water and even pours it down his throat for him. He chokes at first, and asks her where he is. She giggles, and tells him that he is safe, safe, that is all he remembers before falling back to rest.
