~Ok, so this is a new story that I just came up with. I'm pretty sure nobody has a story written with anything about to do with Leap Year on this site, so hopefully this will be original! Hope you guys like it! Oh, yeah. And this is just a prologue, so of course it won't be long! Tell me whether you like it or not! Vote, rate, comment, and become a fan!!!~
Leapers- Anyone who was born on Leap day, (February 29th); Leapers age 4x slower than humans. Seekers- Born at exactly midnight, on January 1st; age 10x slower than humans. Prologue ;) "Luke!" I screeched, watching as his body fell to the floor. Blood trickled down his leg, and stained his clothes. His skin was as pale as ever; purple bruises dotted his whole body. A Seeker had hit him straight through the chest. There was only one thing to save him, and it would be hard. Craig and Ian had hold of the last seeker; nothing could stop me now. I sprinted to Luke, seeing his eyelids drooping. A sob broke through my chest, shaking my whole entire body. I kneeled down, wiping some of the blood away with shaking hands. "Luke," I whispered, not sure whether he could hear me or not. "A life for a life, right?" I laughed without humor. He made no movement, so I knew he was already unconscious. Tears streamed down my face, trickling off my face and landing on his t-shirt. "I love you," I told him, kissing his forehead. I partially lifted up his shirt, just enough to reveal his chest, and placed my hands on both sides of him. His skin was cold and pale compared to mine. An electric shock went through my fingers, and then straight to him; my attempt to revive him. It didn't work so well, so I tried it again. And again. The process became painful, almost too bad to bare. But this was Luke; he saved my life, so I should save his. The electric current flowed more swiftly now; my priorities were set in place. Luke was all that mattered, as long as I could ignore the pain. Which I could, for the most part. An icy burning feeling shot through my veins. This was it. My life was over, and my attempt to save Luke had failed. The two of us would die together, never to see the other again.
