Shattered souls



time is fleeting all around us

darkness slowly closing in

light now shadows they surround us

smiling with a taunting grin

they turn all days to night

the colors of the world all fade away

leaving only shades of grey

we shall never know of joy again

only pain and sorrow

all our joy fades away

the rainbows into shades of grey

a rose so scarlet into black

to never know the joys of love

to only know of tears and blood

and we find ourselves yearning

to know of joy and smiles

yet our hearts give in

for we have no light

our days forever dark as night

our days now empty, bleak, and cold

as the moon shines blood scarlet
