I sat on Langston’s lap as we rested on a bench in King’s Dominion. We’ve been on a bunch rides. I have to admit it was the most fun I’ve had in awhile. I wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned my head onto his shoulder. We sat there in a sort of silence that only we had. Everyone else was running around still going on rides. I was getting dizzy and needed to sit for a bit. I inhaled slowly, taking in Langston’s scent. He smelt so good. I don’t know what he was wearing, but it smelt amazing.
“Are you alright?” He asked rubbing my back.
“Yeah,” I spoke softly. I wasn’t dizzy anymore, not at all. I want to stay like this. I dropped one of my arms from around his neck and my hand found his chest. My hand rest on his chest as he rubbed my back.
I sighed and slowly brought my head up and kissed his cheek. He smiled at me before winking.
“Alright,” I sighed ready to stand up. Yet, before I could; Langston’s arms wrapped around my waist, keeping me pressed against him.
“Stay,” He whispered before leaning forward, brushing his lips over mine. I leaned towards him, our lips hovering over each other.
“You’re such a tease.” I mumbled rolling my eyes.
He chuckled, “You’re one to talk.”
I snickered and shook my head. We’ve been at the park for quite a bit. I’m sure we’re heading out soon. We stayed like that, talking among ourselves. That’s when I noticed a small group of girls watching us shyly. When one of them was aware of me noticing them she smiled.
“That’s Langston right?” She mouthed. Her other friends were giggly and shy. I think they’re fans. I sat up on Langston’s lap and he looked at me a bit confused. I nodded my head towards the girls.
“I think you got some fans over there.” I spoke before getting off his lap and waving the girls forward. They approached up quietly and seemed quite shy. Langston stood up, grunting in the process. I sat back down on the bench as he signed a few things and took pictures with them. It was nice seeing him with the fans. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.
“Hey Sonia,” One of the girls said giving me a friendly smile. I couldn’t help but smile back.
“Hey there. I must say I love your shoes.” I said looking down at the nice black and white Jordans she had on her feet.
“Thank you! I just got them. My birthday was yesterday!” She chimed her smiling stretching even wider. I nodded my head slowly.
“Really? Wow, well happy belated birthday!” I spoke standing up and straightening my clothes. I cleared my throat slightly before looking at the girl, her and her friends watching me closely. I could see Langston watching me closely too. His eyes were narrowed so he was also in confusion about what i was about to do.
“Happy Birthday, to you. Happy birthday to you,” I began to sing, “Happy birthday dear-”
“Alison.” The girl said interrupting me.
“Happy birthday dear Alison, happy birthday to you.” I finished. As if I thought this girl couldn’t smile any wider she did. She squealed a bit and clapped her hands together as her friends did the same.
“Wow, you have a good voice.” One of Alison’s friends said looking at me in awe. I gushed and waved off her compliment.
After all that they hugged Langston good-bye and said good-bye to me. I sighed as they walked off. I sat down on the bench again and Langston took a seat beside me. I was trying to ignore the fact that he was staring at me. I looked over at him and raised an eyebrow.
“Why don’t you sing more often?” He questioned wrapping an arm around my shoulders. I chuckled and shook my head slowly.
“No, It was just for a fan of yours. That was it.” I protested.
“Well, I’m gonna be honest here and say, that with your voice...you could get signed.” He said keeping his eyes forward as he spoke. My brows furrowed and my forehead creased at his words.
“I’d rather not. I just want to go to college and get my law degree. That’s all I need.” I said looking up at him. He glanced down at me once more before looking forward again.
