"This is Katie Scott back with all the breaking news."


I sighed as I watched the TV from where I sat in the kitchen, eating my breakfast one fruit loop at a time.


"Right now, a rebellious group called Natures Hero's or NH, is standing outside the building site for the new cosmetic factory here in Dashville. Appariently, they were going to cut down trees to make room for the factory, when everyone arrived, NH had already come and chained themselves to the trees holding signs saying that people like this are the ones causing Global Warming, and also that this new factory will only create more suffering, because of the animals they use to test make-up products."


"NH is supposedlya group 6 boys, Corey Bower, Sean Adams, Peter Danes, Aaron Wilson, and Derek Masons all ages of 16 with group leader Brice Perry at age19."


"If NH doesnt move soon, then---oh, WAIT! Here comes someone!"


I actually laughed as the news lady tried to make her way over to the approaching limo, I recgonized as my Dads.


Sure enough, he got out with all his pride and glory...


"Mayor Cartwright, MAYOR CARTWRIGHT!"

I watched as my Dad made his way over the the over extatic news anchor.


"Yes?" He asked.


His voice was full of authority and disipline, something I knew all to well.


"Exactly how do you plan to--"

I couldnt stand anymore of this lady's chatter, so i turned the TV off, grabbed my book bag and headed out to my car, a sky blue honda civic.



Hopefully I got to school on time.


I couldn't afford another tardy slip.

*AFTER SCHOOL *




I sighed as i drove down my road and located my house.


Fianally!

Another terrible day at school over and done with.


I hated school, not because i was failing, i actually had A's, but because im a friendless loser. I

mean, who really wants to be friends with the mayors daughter?


Appariently no one.


I got out and slammed my door shut.


I shifted my book bag on my shoulder and headed to the front door.


As soon as I opened it, a rush of smells hit me.


Mom must be cooking again. Crap.

I alsmost gagged and covered my nose.


My mom liked to experimentwith her cooking, and most of her creations were un-edible.


As I walked down the hall, I glanced in the kitchen.


My mom was of course cooking, and I wasnt surprised to see Rose and Katie helping, after all they are world class suck-ups even though they are made of pure evil with ice-cubes as hearts.


Just then Katie turned around and stuck her tongue out at me.


Instead of sticking my tongue back at her, I went with the more adult thing and flipped her the bird.


I surried down the hall before she had the chance to throw anything at me.

She had a terrible temper.


I walked past the living room and saw my Dad sitting in his loungue chair reading the newspaper.


Instead of going up to my room I walked in.


"Hey Dad?"


"Hmm?"


"What happened today?"


He looked up from his paper.


"What do you mean."


"I was watching the news before I went to school, and there was something going on with the new factory?"


He looked back down.


"Oh, yes. Some boys tried to stop constuction and chained themselves to trees."


"What happened?"


"Well, I threated them about going to jail, and they didnt seem to care, so I called the police and they broke the chains."


"Did anyone go to jail."


"Yes."


"What!"


I sat down in the chair opposite my Dad.


"Who and why?" I asked.


He sighed and put the paper down.


"Danny, interupting and/or causing delay to a goverment project or building site is a federal crime.


Only the leader, Brice Perry, I think, got put in jail."


"Why only him."


"Because he was the only one old enough, he was 19 while the rest were 16. You can only put someone in jail if their aged 18 or up in this town."


"Who made that rule."


"Me."


"Oh."
