Chapter 23: Coffee-in-can
MAJO’S POV
“Beauty! Iabot mo nga sa akin yung envelope na yun!” utos ko dito sa muchacha ko atsaka naman niya agad- agad na inabot sa akin yung pinapakuha ko.
This is the file that Darwin gave me before. This is about the last issue that Bench was involved. Kung tama ang lahat ng sources ko, this girl is Ianne Alvarez. I said on my mind habang tinitingnan yung picture niya. Based on the investigation, this girl was Bench’s ex-girlfriend kaya lang, they broke up because of Xionnen. Alam ko na ‘toh matagal na, mula nung magka-interes ako kay Bench pina-imbestigahan ko yun kaya ko nalaman na inagaw lang talaga ni Xionnen si Bench. And because of that, takot na takot maagawan ang kawawang Xionnen kasi inagaw lang din niya ito. Pathetic, right?
I turned to the next picture… this time, it was the same girl but with Bench and a kid.
Right now, this girl is living with someone named Xavier Contis who is apparently, Xionnen’s brother… My God. I just cannot believe that they are living in a very small world. Who is this girl, really? Bakit hindi magawang alisin ni Bench sa life niya itong bruha na ‘toh!
“Babe, are you still there?” Darwin called out. I was talking to him over the phone. He is reporting something latest that he found out.
“Yeah, I’m still here. So, what is it?” Naiirita kong tanong. Kung tutuusin, wala naman akong dapat problemahin eh. So what kung bumalik yung ex ni Bench diba? Si Xionnen ang dapat na namomroblema dun and not me.
“Hiwalay na sina Bench at Xionnen.” Darwin said simply. Instantly, I formed a very wide smile. Really? Hiwalay na sila?! Hahaha! OMG! Kung siniswerte ka nga naman! For sure Bench is lonely now and looking for fun, I just need to flirt a little with him and voila! he will also go crazy for me!
“Good job, Darwin! How did you find out?” I asked him, I cannot keep myself from smiling. Mas mapapadaling makuha ko si Bench kung ganito ang nangyayari. Yung namumukod tanging sagabal sa amin ay si Xionnen at ngayong wala na sila, I’m free to do whatever I want!
“Xionnen told me herself.” He answered.
“Really? I didn’t know that you are close to her.” I shrugged, checking again the pictures and reading the facts that are written on these papers.
“Nope, we’re not close. It’s just that I saw her at the bar. Anyway, do not celebrate yet, babe… aren’t you curious what tore them apart?” he said. Since he mentioned it, oo nga noh.. they have been together for so long, bakit nga ba naghiwalay yung dalawa?
