Authors note - sorry for the insanely long break. Also for giving up breaking my heart again. I thought I was going somewhere but I can't be bothered. Rich kids boarding school will be continued shortly as well I just wanna know if your interested in this... it does get better this is just a prologue with a rubbish, lame ending that is cheesy and probably awful. Enjoy.
Prologue It started when we were nine. We were sitting in the park, like we did every Saturday afternoon. Lily had sneaked out and mum probably didn't care where I was. 'Why are you crying?' asked Lily, sitting down on the bench next to me. I shrugged, and wiped my eyes on my sleeve. I was such a wuss of a kid. Anything could make me cry. But kids are like that, aren't they. They fall over and end up howling over a scraped knee that doesn't faze you as soon as you're over ten, but I was nine and everything made me cry. 'Did your dad yell at you?' she asked, wisely. 'Yeah' I replied, swinging my legs. I wasn't tall enough for them to reach the floor yet. 'Sorry' said Lily. She was the kind of kid who never cried, even when she fell over. Her honey blonde hair was always swept up neatly out of her beautiful face and her clothes were always neat and cute. Not hand me downs that had been washed out several times, like mine were. 'Do you want to play a game?' I smiled at that. Typical Lily. Her life seemed to consist of games. She loved having fun, she always did. I can barely remember her face without seeing a grin spread across it, a constant laugh etched across unfairly pretty features. 'I don't feel like playing a game' I replied, then sniffed. 'Are you sure?' she asked, leaning down to look at me 'it will make you feel better.' 'Will it?' I asked. 'Yeah' she nodded, smiling with cute dimples on her cheeks. 'Promise?' 'I promise' she put a hand on her heart. 'What game?' 'Truth or dare.' I groaned 'Lily. I hate that game' I said. 'It will be FUN' she enthused 'you don't have to do anything bad. Just fun. It's a game remember?' 'Fine. I get to go first' I looked up at her, pushed the hair out of my eyes 'truth or dare.' She stuck her tongue out 'truth' she decided. 'Okay' I paused, thinking. 'What were you and Sammy doing behind the hill on Friday?' She grinned wickedly 'he held my hand and told me he loved me' she said. 'Really' I said, shocked. It was shocking, for a nine year old 'did he kiss you?' She nodded 'on the cheek.' 'Eww' I said, typical kid tradition. Boys were gross to me at that age, Lily had liked them at all ages. 'What about you Nomi?' she asked, this was my cute nick name I had forced her to drop as soon as we went to middle school. 'Truth or dare?' I didn't even hesitate. For truth she would ask me why I had been crying, and I didn't want to talk about it. 'Dare.' She dared me to jump in this huge puddle and I did, and got completely soaked. I was so wet I just sat down in it because it was funny, Lily laughed so much until I splashed her and she got her perfect hair and clothes wet. Then she rand into the puddle for revenge. We ended up soaked, and laughing, and freezing. 'That was so fun' laughed Lily as I tried to catch my breath. 'Yeah' I agreed. 'We should do it all the time' she said. 'Do what?' I asked. 'This' she lifted her arms up as if that explained it 'playing, having fun, truth or dare. It should be our thing. Every day.' 'I'm not sure' I said, always the rational one even when I was young. 'We are best friends aren't we?' 'For life' I replied. 'And best friends have fun' she grinned 'best friends have things, and this is ours. Truth or dare.' 'Truth or dare' I repeated. 'Best friends forever' she asked, raising a light eyebrow. I smiled, and agreed 'Forever and ever.' Best friends. Me and Lily. Truth or dare. The game that made and destroyed my entire teenage life.
