aren't easy to bear

seems forever and forever

was quite a surprise
i'd no anticipation
of the sensitivity you'd possess
heart and soul of mine
both have been wounded and bruised
permanent, deep blemishes
seeped slowly inside .. over time
only allowing me to live with great fears of love
all my being unexpectedly opened
and led you to a well guarded .. hidden place
somewhere no one had ever cared to view
crumbled down walls now remain
when you'd departed through the darkening sky
I traveled the same path .. we'd previously been
all my instincts .. felt your tears falling fast and hard
whilst I crossed the edge of the ocean beneath you
your love of me ignited a great shooting star
which illuminated the unbearable pain
etched in my face .. eyes, heavily blurred .. swollen
for all passers by to see
my love of you .. patiently waits
for the scarce freedom of release
until we meet again
