Part 2 of 14
Chapter 2

"NOOOO! YOU IDIOT! I HATE YOU!" James yelled.

"YES! FINALLY! How does it feel to fail epically!?" Brayden yelled back.

I swear if the kept yelling at each other and the TV their going to give themselves an aneurism. I thought as I flipped the page of my magazine.

"Lila, guess what!?" My mom said walking into my room.

"Hmm?" I mumbled.

"Football party! James and the boys are inviting the whole football team, soccer team and baseball team over tonight for a party! Supervised of course and their parents are coming too for me and your dad isn't that fun!? I just hope I don't have to hang out with the women." She made a face. "You know how much I hate their gossiping. And I wanna watch the game!"

My mom was a pretty laid back person, kind of a do-what-you-want-but-don't-break-the law-or-stay-out-past-midnight, given a few more rules, person. She's definitely one of the most laid back moms I know. But we're not aloud to date till we're 18. Which is okay with since I have no one that I'm even remotely interested in. Typical of me.

"Mmmkay..."

I hate parties. Almost as much as I hate the spawns. Maybe a little less. This was a football party though so it's not like I had to be around anyone. I don't understand football and whenever someone tries to explain it to me I just get more confused. Sports just weren't my thing. I didn't play them. I didn't watch them. Simple.

A few hours later I got hungry. Stupid stomach. I growled at myself internally. I really didn't want to go downstairs. There were A LOT of boys there. And not just any boys. Jocks. Jocks who would think I'm an emo like The Spawns. I don't think I'm emo. I'm an individual. And I hate stereotypes.

I silently crept down the stairs, hoping everyone would be in the basement watching the game on the big screen. As I got closer to the bottom of the stairs I heard the muffled screaming to 'get the ball!' and asking 'what was that!' at the TV, mixed with the current song playing on my iPod. I breathed a sigh of relief. They were downstairs by the sound of it. Thank God.

I made my way into the kitchen and started digging my way through the refrigerator. Grabbing a bowl of grapes and a bottle of juice I closed the fridge. As the door swung shut, the wire of my ear buds got caught on the door pulling them from my ears. I sighed and put the bowl of grapes on the counter, grabbing the ear buds and putting them in my ears as the doorbell rang.

Sighing I left on ear bud in, grabbed my grapes and went to the front door. The football game started an hour ago. Who would come an hour late for a football game? Opening the front door I saw the person I thought I would never see again.

"Hey um... I think I might have the wrong address... I'm looking for the Rolts?" Ah the fifth spawn returns.

"Nope you have the right address; everyone's downstairs watching the game. You can go ahead down Tristan." I spoke emotionlessly.

Turning around I started to make my way back up to my room, with my bowl of grapes and juice.

"Hey wait!" He said grabbing my arm. I turned back around and stared up at him through my eyelashes with an annoyed look on my face. He seemed oblivious to my annoyance as he spoke. "If I'm at the right house, who are you?"

Good God is he joking? I've known this person for how long? And he doesn't even recognize me? Yeah he moved away and has been gone for a few years but seriously! Is this guy joking?

"Oh come one Tristan! You know who I am. I mean jeeze I've known you since like birth! How ever many years you were gone was not enough to forget that!" I rolled my eyes and stared at him, disbelief coating my every feature.

"Oh my god... Lila? You look... different... REALLY different! But I can't believe I didn't recognize you!" He said in shock.

"Yep." I pulled out of his grip. "Well tell Anne and Brie that I said hi." With that I went upstairs and hid myself away in my room once again.

Several hours later I had finished my bowl of grapes and juice and sat on my bed reading some random book for school. I had made my way through all the songs on my iPod and was listening to the sounds of the people downstairs. They had all come up to the main floor once the game was over and I knew they wouldn't be gone until at least 11.

My stomach growled once again but I refused to give it food, considering A) I had just eaten a huge bowl of grapes and B) There were people and satan's spawns down there. And the prodigal spawn. Of course HE had to come back.
