CHAPTER 2!!!
"Okay, so I have a question." I said carefully choosing my words "Why are we doing this if this is science class?" I guess Mrs.Miller hear me.
"We need to know our partner to get along better with them. Getting along with our partners will help out our relationship and know some things others might not know. You will each, individually tell an oral presentation explaining what you learned about your partner. Any questions, comments, concerns?" Everyone was quiet. "Okay, continue..."
I looked back at Nathan. Wow! He. Was. Hot. I looked into his deep brown eyes. I got lost into my daydreams.
I saw a hand waving in my face. "Taylor? Taylor? Hello?" I snapped back into reality, my cheeks turned deep red. I felt so nervous, I was sweating through my deodorant. Eww! I thought
"Oh. Yeah?" Aduhh. Why did I just say that?! I took out a pen and was ready to take notes on Nathan.
"Lets start. " I finally said. "When is your birthday? Age? Your favorite past time? Middle name?" I shot questions at him like there was no tomorrow.
"Woah! Slow down!" He paused while I nodded. "Okay, I was born December 7, 1995. So obviously, I am 14. I play basketball, write stories, and I play baseball." He looked up. "Don't write about the stories thing. And I don't have a middle name..."
"Okay, now I have got everything down, and we have...30 minutes left." I looked up into his dark brown eyes. "Why shouldn't I say anything about the story writing thing?"
"Umm, actually. I am an author. I write novels. You know the novel Together?" I nodded.
It was my favorite book. It was about a kid a little bit older than 20 that was in love with a 19 year old. They had parents that loved them together, but they had so many differences. They had nothing in common. Neither one of them knew what to do so the woman had stayed away from him. She was riding on a train to go see him when a plane crashed and hit the floor. Leaving not one survivor.
"Well, I ....wrote it."
"What you wrote the book Tog-" his hand flew over my mouth. He sent an electric jolt through my body.
"Shh! Yes I did. The author is Nathan Lihls. Think about my last name. Its just all mixed up."
"Oh. Now its your turn. Okay?" he said pleased with the shock that spread across my face. "The same questions. Except I want to know who you are dating and who the most interesting person you've met in your life is."
Without thinking, I blurted out everything he wanted to know.
"Umm, my birthday is December 6, 1995...14. I just moved here-thought I should throw that in there. I play basketball. I try to write and I play soccer. My middle name is Jane. So, Taylor Jane Kile. I am dating no one and the most interesting person I have met is you." I quickly shut my mouth and shut my eyes while burying my head in my arm.
OH MY GOSH! I AM SO CLUELESS! WHY THE HELL DID I JUST SAY THAT?! I thought...Wait! Why did he ask me who I was dating. Did he like me? I just met the kid! How clueless is he about the girls. Well, actually probably not that much because I could tell by the smile on his face that he had gotten the information he wanted.
"Why did you ask me if I was da-"
BIING! BIING! BIING! How cliché, just take all of the good questions outta my grasp, right.
Thank goodness our locker break was now. I followed him to his locker, making sure he wouldn't see me. Okay, I can do this. I pretended to bump into him.
"Oh! I am sorry...(I looked up to make it seem more realistic) Nathan. Now that we are talking, can you tell me why you asked me those last to questions?"
"Its so simple. I thought it was obvious. Didn't you notice Mack staring at you?"
"W-W-What? Wait, no! Ewww! Mack?" I kept going until nothing more could come out.
"Yep. Well, he heard you and I will be leaving in...now. Bye Taylor!"
Mack came up behind me, I guess he was pretty cute. Snap out of it! I thought.
"Hey, I think Nathan likes you Tay."
"Really!?" Oops, waaay to much emotion showed there. His face fell to a frown. What had I gotten myself into?
